Phoenix residents at a condo complex are terrified and frustrated after a sinkhole appeared on their street yesterday morning.

Homeowners at the Parkside Condominiums in Arizona are worried about their safety and their living situation now that a third sinkhole has popped up.

According to AZFamily, the new sinkhole emerged after a water main under the road broke and flooded the street.

The neighborhood’s second sinkhole appeared on the streets in February 2022 and a resident told AZFamily that it has not been repaired.

‘I’m worried about the safety of others, of people driving by or walking children and pets,’ said a Parkside Condominiums resident Steven Kwiat.

The uproar over the sinkholes in the community began after the second one appeared in the middle of the street two years ago.

Resident Samuel Ybarra told AZFamily that the second sinkhole formed from a small crack in the road.

Property managers released a statement about the issue in 2022 and told the residents that the streets had a weak foundation due to rusty storm water tanks.

Officials then covered the sinkhole with metal plates, which have been on the street ever since.

‘This was their solution, to put giant metal plates that have been sitting here for about a year and a half now,’ said Ybarra earlier this year.

Due to the new sinkhole, Ybarra confirmed that the second sinkhole has begun collapsing again.

The recent flood caused a mess throughout all of the streets surrounding the condo complex.

Ybarra claimed that the new sinkhole is close and bigger than the one that formed in 2022.

The resident is now even more frustrated with the building managers and the Homeowners Association (HOA) than he was earlier this year.

Ybarra added that he feels like the property managers are treating this issue ‘as if it’s just an eyesore and not a safety hazard or a loss of property hazard.’

Other terrified and frustrated Parkside Condominiums are now wondering when the sinkholes will be fixed.

‘It’s my home. I love my home and everything is just a mess right now,’ said a tearful Kwiat.

‘The community is not where it was.’
