Pete Davidson and John Mulaney pushed back the dates for their comedy show in Maine following the tragic mass shooting in the town of Lewiston on Wednesday.

John took to his Twitter on Thursday to announce the postponement with an emotional message.

‘We are devastated by the events in Lewiston. Shows scheduled for this weekend in Maine on Saturday, 10/28 and Sunday, 10/29 have been postponed. We are thinking of you all. – John and Pete’.

The shows were scheduled for venues in the cities of Bangor and Portland, roughly 30 miles from the scene of the horrific incident which left 18 dead.

According to a post on Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena website, information about possible make-up dates will be announced at some point in the near future.

The mass shootings took place at Schemengees Bar and Grille and the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley.

Authorities say a man named Robert Card fatally shot 18 people and injured 13. A massive manhunt is underway for the shooter.

The shooter was an Army reservist who had been taken by police for an evaluation after military officials became concerned that he was acting erratically in mid-July.

The shooting in the state’s second-largest city is the 36th mass killing in the United States this year.

In August, it was announced Pete would join John and The Daily Show vet Jon Stewart for a short run of comedy shows.

The mini tour has been Jon, John & Pete.

The comedians started their run of four shows in Springfield, Mass., on Sept. 8 before doing two shows a night in Bethlehem, Penn., on Sept. 9 and in Atlantic City on Sept. 10.

The return to stage would be Pete’s first tour since entering rehab earlier this summer.

The SNL alum entered a rehab facility seeking assistance with post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder, a diagnosis he revealed on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast in 2017.

Pete recently hosted the Saturday Night Live season premiere on Oct. 14, his first time as host since leaving the famed sketch show.

He addressed ‘the horrible images and stories from Israel and Gaza’ in deeply personal remarks during the opening minutes.

In the emotional cold open, he discussed his firsthand experience dealing with tragedy and terrorism, sharing how the 9/11 loss of his father, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter, deeply affected him.
