Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will return to host the 23rd series of I’m A Celebrity, when it launches in November.

While the series’ release date has yet to be announced, fans can get excited for the show, set in the Australian jungle, with a first look trailer premiering on ITV. 

Rumoured campmates for the upcoming season of the popular ITV show, include a former Prime Minister, a Drag Race star, an ex-girlband member. 

Viewers announced they could ‘barely contain their excitement’ after the sneak peak aired during Big Brother, with many sharing their thoughts on X. 

Here we take a look at who could be heading into the ‘five star’ Jungle Retreat…

Former Prime Minister Liz Truss’ name is said to be rumbling around this year’s rumour mill, after Matt Hancock appeared on the last series of I’m A Celeb in a bid to revamp his image.

A source told The Sun: ‘After seeing the effect of having former Health Secretary on the show last year, bosses were keen to repeat the feat in the new series.

‘High-level politicians are virtually guaranteed to create controversy in the camp – which equates to compulsive viewing for fans at home.’

‘I’m petrified of spiders but get me to that jungle, I’d do it! What a great life opportunity that I’m never going to get again… I am all for that!’

However, the performer noted: ‘I’d have to take all my make-up – I’d need mirrors!’

Frankie Dettori is looking increasingly likely to appear in the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity.

Last month, the odds on the champion jockey, 52,  swapping race courses for the jungle have dropped as low as 2/1.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, told The Mirror: ‘Presuming this will be his last season in the saddle, we’ve seen plenty of money come in for Frankie Dettori to appear in this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in November.

‘There seems to be confidence that the Italian jockey will serve a stint in the jungle this year, with his price of 16/1 earlier this month shrinking to just 2/1 as of Wednesday morning.’

Josie Gibson is now one of the names rumoured for the 2023 line-up.

The former Big Brother winner, 38, has become a breakout star of This Morning over the past 12 months, and I’m a Celeb producers are said to be ‘determined to get her’ into the jungle.

A source reportedly told The Sun: ‘She is seen as the perfect person for the jungle as she’s already such a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fanbase with her.’

James Buckley

Camp cook: With Celebrity MasterChef already under his belt, will Inbetweeners star James Buckley head to the jungle? 

James Buckley could be joining this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up.

The Inbetweeners star, 36, who famously played schoolboy Jay in the comedy series, previously shared an interest in appearing on I’m A Celeb, seeing it as a ‘challenge’.

James said: ‘I’m not a huge fan of celebrity reality shows. But out of all of those ones, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! does personally seem to be the most interesting because it feels like a challenge.

‘I’d be cold, I’d be hungry and even when you win a meal, I’d be like, ‘I just want a Big Mac’.’

Olivia Attwood made her I’m a Celebrity debut in last year’s series, becoming the first Love Island star to enter the jungle.

But her time in camp was short-lived. Olivia, 32, was forced to pull out of the ITV reality show on medical grounds.

She later revealed to that a routine blood test had found she was ‘dangerously anaemic’, with low levels of both sodium and potassium. ITV decided not to allow her back into the jungle.

At the time, Olivia admitted she was ‘heartbroken’ and would be keen to give I’m A Celeb another go after her first stint was ‘cut short’.

During an appearance on Lorraine, she said:  ‘At some point, I would love to return. I feel like I owe it to everyone and that there is some unfinished business.’

Danny Cipriani

Rugby player Danny Cipriani is said to be on the radar of I’m A Celeb bosses.

A source told The : ‘Danny is one of the most exciting signings for this series. There is also huge anticipation that he will reveal secrets from his showbiz lifestyle.

‘But he has a sense of humour too which will ensure he is both popular amongst his camp mates but also with those watching at home.’

Alan Halsall is rumoured to be to gearing up to follow in the footsteps of his many fellow soap stars, such as Simon Gregson and Andy Whyment 

The actor – who has played mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on Coronation Street since 1998 – is reportedly ‘in talks’ to appear on the next series of I’m A Celeb.

A source told The Sun that as one of Corrie’s ‘most-loved characters’, Alan comes with a ‘ready-made fan base.

‘Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast,’ added the insider.

The Good Morning Britain weather presenter told The Mirror: ‘Out of all the shows I would love to do, I would love to do the jungle,’ he said.

‘The only thing is, I don’t know how good I would be with snakes and spiders but I think it is the show that all of us that work in telly want to do, it is that show isn’t it? I would get stuck in but I think lying down with snakes all around you, ugh!’

Phil Taylor has previously admitted that he is keen to get into the I’m a Celebrity jungle camp.

After the darts champion’s late mentor Eric Bristow enjoyed a stint in the jungle back in 2012, Phil told The Mirror that he himself was interested in appearing on the reality show.

Phil said: ‘I would like to do the jungle – I’m not so sure about Strictly, although it would do me the world of good and get me fit.

‘But if I was asked to do the jungle, and it fits in with my schedule, I would love to have a crack at it.’

Amanda Holden previously quizzed her about going into the jungle on Heart FM, to which Jade said: ‘I’ll try anything once me, do you know what I mean? I’ll give it a crack.’
