Ruby Franke’s daughter Shari has shared a brutal Thanksgiving message to her mom – but admitted she did learn at least one thing while under her thumb.

In a post on Thursday, Shari shared a picture of herself making dinner rolls, and used an emoji of a devil alongside a quip about her abusive mother.

‘This Thanksgiving, I’m especially not thankful for Ruby,’ Shari, 21, captioned an Instagram story, taking a swipe at her mother who is serving up to 30 years in prison for the horrific abuse of her six children.

‘But damn did she teach me how to make good rolls.’

The 21-year-old has been outspoken since her mother’s conviction in February, and recently revealed she plans to release a book The House of My Mother in January.

She also recently petitioned the Utah House of Representatives to bolster child abuse laws in the state, and described herself as a ‘victim of family vlogging.’

‘I want to be clear that there is never, never a good reason for posting your children online for money or fame,’ she told lawmakers.

Ruby would often film Shari and her siblings for her Mormon momfluencer YouTube account, which amassed millions of followers before Ruby was revealed to be a child abuser.

The ‘mommy vlogger’ was snared in August 2023 when her emaciated son escaped her house of horrors and fled to a neighbor’s home for help.

Shari’s Thanksgiving post at her mother comes after she made headlines by scathing a new documentary about her family, claiming she and her siblings were never contacted.

She hit out at Lifetime producers for leaving her in the dark about the film, which was released on October 26.

The film it titled Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story stars Heather Locklear, but Shari saying she was caught off guard by the film about her family’s life.

‘I saw the trailer suddenly in class and had an anxiety attack,’ she shared on Instagram.

She added: ‘None of us were contacted about the movie.’

Shari further stated that ‘none of the proceeds’ from the film would be going to any of her moms victims.

‘This movie is trash, and only hurts my siblings more,’ she said.

At the end of her post, she issued a desperate plea for people not to support the film.

In February, Franke was sentenced to up to 30 years in prison for brutally abusing two of her six children in a ‘concentration camp-like setting’.

Crime scene photos, doorbell videos, and interrogation tapes were released a month later, showing her children with gruesome injuries after being tied up, beaten and starved.

Last October, Shari – who is estranged from her parents- wrote on Instagram that there were ‘not even words to describe how upside down my life has become’ after her mother’s arrest.

I’ve cried, had an infinite number of panic attacks, had way too much ice-cream, and yet life goes on,’ she continued.

She credited her faith with seeing her through this troubling time.

‘Therapy has literally saved me, but God has too,’ Shari wrote. ‘My life is somehow becoming more beautiful and fulfilling, despite all the terrible things going on.’

A month before, she had claimed that relatives had been ‘trying to tell police and CPS for years about’ her mother’s abuse. She added that she was ‘so glad they finally decided to step’ and the kids were safe.

Ruby’s business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, a mental health counselor, was also sentenced to 30 years after it was revealed that she was involved in the abuse.

Franke’s estranged husband, Kevin, had not seen the children for more than a year and was not charged with any crime.

During Franke’s trial, prosecutors played dramatic doorbell camera footage that showed the disturbing moment her son arrived at a neighbor’s house in shackles asking for help and directions to the police.

In the video, the emaciated and badly bruised 12-year-old boy tentatively approached his neighbors on their porch after managing to escape the torture of his mom via a window.

The child had just escaped from Hildebrandt’s home, investigators said.

He is seen ringing the doorbell of his neighbors and walking away as he thinks no one is home – until a neighbor calls him back.

‘I was wondering if you could do me two favors,’ the boy says politely.

‘Well what are they?’ the neighbor responds.

‘Taking me to the nearest police station,’ the young boy replies before he is asked to take a seat and explain what’s happened. He also said he needed cops for ‘personal business.’

Images released by the courts also highlight the extent of the abuse by Franke and show the two emaciated victims with infected cuts on their legs, duct tape around their arms and feet and scratches and bruises on their bodies.

Police discovered a cramped safe room in the basement of the property that was locked from the outside, rope that would be used to tie up the children in adult diapers.

Chief Deputy Washington County Attorney Ryan Shaum said in a written statement that Franke and Hildebrandt’s actions amounted to ‘some of the worst child abuse’ he had seen in nearly 30 years of prosecuting.
