I’m A Celebrity stars adjusted to the new-look camp as they returned from the day’s Trial to find it had undergone a makeover.

From this week on, stars will have to pay for everything they do in camp – even the toilet – using a cash card.

And Thursday’s episode saw the camp get a makeover to incorporate the changes, with turnstiles introduced to access the toilet, a pay-as-you-go shower and a vending wall to buy filtered water and logs.

To tempt the celebrities, there was also a ‘treat machine’ – where the campmates can spend their earnings on extra treats for camp.

Cash will only be added onto the campmates’ card as they compete in games to earn money – and they will be forced to make the tough decision of whether to spend the money on essentials or treats.

Returning from the day’s Trial, the campmates entered camp, which is now complete with turnstiles to use the dunny, shower, pool and bath at $10 a visit.

Also introduced was a vending wall, depositing fresh filtered water and logs for the fire, for $10 each item. Plus, there was a treat machine where the campmates could buy extra treats for camp.

Dean, Alan and Danny wasted no time spending their first $10 each, as they all got into the jungle shower in order to clean themselves after the Trial.

With Danny saying: ‘Paying for a cold natural waterfall doesn’t feel right but my god you enjoy it and you take it in way more! You wanna spend all day in there now.’

Meanwhile Dean said: ‘Best $10 I ever spent.’

Oti and Richard were unable to find the camp’s supply of rice and beans upon their return to camp.

As the camp then twigged the rice and the beans must have been taken out in the rubbish by Maura, Oti headed to go take a look at the bins.

As Oti successfully retrieved the rice and beans, Maura told the Bush Telegraph: ‘I didn’t throw the rice and beans in the rubbish on purpose or anything, although that’s the place for them if I’m being honest! It was a complete accident.’

On Wednesday’s episode of spin-off show Unpacked, And and Dec announced the campmates would be split into teams of four and each given a cash card.

Speaking to Joel Dommett, Dec revealed: ‘They’re getting split into three teams of four and they’re coming down to the rank bank. Now the first three are coming to play against each other to win cash, or to win money to put on a cash card.

‘So each team is getting one of these. Now everything will cost them from hereon in.’

Ant added: ‘So essentials, any little treats or anything they’ve got to pay for it with money they’ve put on the cash card.’

Dec revealed that this will be introduced over the next few days as Joel joked: ‘We’ve finally gone cashless.’

With Danny saying: 'Paying for a cold natural waterfall doesn't feel right but my god you enjoy it and you take it in way more! You wanna spend all day in there now'

Guests on the show gasped as they realised going to the toilet would cost campmates – implying that they might be banned from using the dunny if their card declines.

Ant said: So you’ve got to weigh up “Do I have a lovely treat here” or do I need to stick with you know, shower gel?’
