Ticketmaster has been slammed after F1 fans were informed at the last minute ticket sales for the n Grand Prix next year have been delayed.

The tickets for the Melbourne event were meant to go on sale at 12pm on Tuesday.

Some fans had been in the waiting room since 11am and were left fuming after being told the sales would be delayed until Wednesday.

Ticketmaster has blamed a ‘global third-party outage’ for the malfunction and issued an apology alongside the n Grand Prix.

‘Due to a global third-party outage, the Formula 1 n Grand Prix 2025 general public onsale will be delayed until tomorrow Wednesday 9 October 12pm AEDT,’ it read.

‘We apologise for any inconvenience.’

ns were left fuming with some demanding the organisations elucidate on the reason for the delay.

‘What do they mean by third-party outage? Is it a website problem or something else?’ one said.

Some were left angry that Ticketmaster waited until midday to reveal the sale of tickets would be postponed.

‘You just figured this out at 12.10pm? Not 11am when you said waiting room opened? Just happy to leave people frustrated for 70 minutes?’ one wrote.

‘Might have been handy to know before we wasted our time trying to get tickets!’ another added.

The n Grand Prix will be held in Melbourne between March 13 and 16 next year.

The cost for a ticket has soared with the cheapest option setting back fans a staggering $169. It marks a $20 increase to the price that was charged this year.

n Grand Prix CEO Travis Auld defended the price increase.

‘What we’ve tried to do year-on-year is limit the increase of the base price but the realities are the cost of holding a Formula One event is increasing, I think the cost of holding global major events is increasing,’ he said.

‘We are seeing unprecedented demand and we have got to try and balance that with keeping the event as accessible as possible and we’ve had a lot of conversations around that.

‘People have different views around that but that is certainly the intention.’
