Thousands of NRL fans headed to Sydney this long weekend for the highly-anticipated grand final can look forward to sunny skies and pleasant weather.
Conditions around are looking mostly clear this weekend, aside from some showers in the southeast on Saturday, with the east coast clear for the match between the Storm and Panthers on Sunday night.
Crowds of up to 80,000 people are expected to flock to the Accor Stadium at Sydney’s Olympic Park, where temperatures are expected to reach a high of 28C.
Millions more ns are looking forward to enjoying a long weekend.
The ACT, New South Wales and South will get a public holiday on Monday for Labour Day, while Queensland will enjoy one for the King’s Birthday.
Meteorologist Angus Hines, from the Bureau of Meteorology, said parts of southern could see light showers over the weekend.
‘For Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney, Sydney, Saturday is more just like the chance of a few quick showers, with large proportions of your day bringing fine weather,’ he said.
