n pop star The Kid Laroi has teased that fans can expect a few surprises when he takes the stage at this Sunday’s NRL Grand Final.
But the 21-year-old is remaining tight-lipped over rumours that n rappers OneFour will be joining him for the performance.
The four-piece group, who hail from Sydney’s western suburbs, are a favourite of the young pop sensation and will be supporting the Without You singer on his upcoming tour.
The Kid Laroi, whose real name is Charlton Howard, triggered speculation over the NRL Grand Final entertainment line-up last month while appearing on 2-Day’s Jimmy and Nath Show.
During the segment, which was later shared to Tik Tok, co-host Jimmy Smith asked the Kid Laroi about the rumours, which sent the pop star into fits of embarrassed laughter.
‘You’ve got some pretty bad poker face,’ co-host Nath Roye joked after seeing the Kid’s reaction.
‘You know… It’s just hard to answer,’ the singer and NRL super fan finally replied raising his eyebrows.
He then continued: ‘In general we have a lot of cool things planned… I’m trying to plan some cool stuff to make it special.

‘I’m obviously really stoked to be doing it, I’m trying to make it as special as possible.’
The Grammy-nominated star hung out with Souths players before the season curtain-raiser in Las Vegas earlier this year, and shared his delight in getting the call up for the big game.
‘As a young kid growing up in Sydney, I would drive past Rabbitohs training at Redfern Oval dreaming of playing rugby league and making music and now I’m going to have this pinch myself moment of playing my music in front of a roaring crowd of rugby league fans on Grand Final day,’ he said.

‘It really doesn’t get much better than that.’
It comes after the Kid Laroi opened up about the pressures of stardom and what it is really like to be a young artist navigating life in Hollywood.
The Aussie star was just 14 years old when he recorded his first EP and then skyrocketed to fame with his 2021 hit Stay alongside Justin Bieber.

Now, Laroi has detailed what it was really like being given so much ‘responsibility’ at such a young age, admitting it made him feel a lot older than he actually is.
‘I’ve felt older for a long time, but this year, more than any other year, I’m appreciating how “young” I am,’ he confessed to Stellar Magazine this week.
‘I do have a lot of life responsibility, I do have all this crazy, real, grown-up stuff. A lot of people my age are going to uni or college. I don’t want to feel a need to grow up too quickly.’
After feeling pressure to grow up quickly, Laroi is now shifting gears, attempting to reconnect with the youth he feels he missed out on during his meteoric rise to fame.

‘I spent a lot of my teenage years thinking I had to be grown up, you know what I mean? I’m trying to take time to appreciate how young I am before it’s gone.’
Laroi is no stranger to performing in front of huge crowds and is soon set to take to the stage once again in front of thousands of fans all around .
In November, he will bring his rescheduled The First Time tour to the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Hobart before wrapping up with two shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
The Without You hitmaker will be taking US rapper Quavo and controversial n drill rap group OneFour along for the ride for all of his shows, except Hobart and the Gold Coast.
Laroi was initially due to kick off his tour in February but was forced to postpone the dates due to ‘logistics beyond his control.’

Speaking about the postponement at the time, Laroi said: ‘I have a really big surprise and special guest that we just couldn’t finalise in time for February, among a bunch of other logistical stuff.’
‘I wanna give you the best show that I possibly can and make everyone back home proud,’ he continued.
‘I promise that it will be worth it, and I will keep you guys posted on the special guests and everything else that is to come.’
He had initially planned to make up the shows in October, but the announcement of a November run left some fans out in the cold.
