Carmen Electra looked downcast as she surfaced in Los Angeles  – after a bizarre podcast interview that left fans concerned.

Last month she appeared less polished than usual when she gave an interview on Dear Media’s The Skinny Confidential with Lauryn Bosstick, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of her star-making show Baywatch.

Some fans called it ‘hard to watch’ and speculated about Carmen’s condition, although a source said her sluggish behavior was caused by a bout of Covid.

In her first public sighting since the viral interview, Carmen, 52, retained a stony expression while stepping out in Los Angeles on Thursday.

She opted for a casual ensemble of a black tank top with sweats and a hoodie, wearing makeup but leaving the curlers in her hair.

Carmen, who obscured her face partly behind a large pair of dark sunglasses, could be seen opening the passenger side door of a gleaming black Mercedes.

Her appearance comes weeks after her viral podcast interview, which prompted one incredulous YouTube commenter to remark: ‘What is she on?! Applause to Lauryn for keeping this interview going.’

‘She seems so highly medicated that she can hardly get her words out. This was a painful listen. I can’t imagine sitting there and trying to pretend everything was normal,’ wrote another.

One added, ‘I feel bad, because she doesn’t seem sober and she’s still beautiful, but I feel like she’s hurting.’

‘This was rough to watch, had a hard time finishing the whole video! She was all over the place, was hoping for a good interview,’ wrote another.

A source told DailyMail.com that Carmen’s demeanor was down to an ill-timed bout of Covid – which unfortunately coincided with her press tour for Baywatch.

The Scary Movie star has had a busy few weeks, which included appearing at 90s Con in Los Angeles and promoting Hulu’s After Baywatch series.

This isn’t the first time that fans have been concerned about Carmen’s behavior.

During a red carpet interview with Extra TV last month, countless fans commented that Carmen ‘seemed off.’ 

‘I hope she’s okay. I’ve followed her since the Prince era… but something seems off. Not throwing stones – could just be a funky day – but hopefully she’s taking care of herself,’ one commented. 

Another wrote, ‘She seems like she’s having trouble speaking or her train of thought? Focusing? She’s lovely, hope she’s okay.’

These days, the actress is making a killing creating raunchy content on OnlyFans. 

The former MTV Spring Break VJ joined the adult site in 2022, just four weeks after celebrating her 50th birthday.  

She told People magazine: ‘I get lots of requests for my feet, it cracks me up.’

The bombshell, who became a sex symbol on Baywatch in the 1990s and for appearing on the cover of Playboy, previously claimed ‘it was like a no-brainer’ to join the platform.
