McDonald’s is set to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day with a special promotion, offering double cheeseburgers for just 50 cents.
The one-day deal, available on Wednesday, September 18, is accessible to customers who order through the McDonald’s app.
This promotion is part of a series of offers the fast-food giant has rolled out in recent months.
The company’s strategy appears to focus on providing value to customers while encouraging the use of its digital platforms.
In addition to the National Cheeseburger Day offer, McDonald’s has extended its $5 Meal Deal through December.
This popular offer includes a choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, fries, chicken McNuggets, and a soft drink.
The fast-food giant made the decision after 80 percent of local franchises voted to extend the deal until the end of the year, CNBC reported.
‘The extension of the $5 Meal Deal, and the other offerings we’re announcing for our fall line-up, are just a few of the ways we’re working hard to offer great meals at a fair price,’ said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA, in a press release Thursday.
McDonald’s began offering the $5 Meal Deal on June 25 at participating US restaurants in what was initially supposed to be a four-week special.
‘Value has always been part of our DNA,’ Erlinger said in a June 20 release.
‘We’re focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options customers can enjoy any time they walk through our doors, go through our drive thru or place an order through our app.’
Erlinger confirmed that McDonald’s created the deal after he ‘zig-zagged the country’ and participated in focus groups with its customers, in an interview with TODAY at the time.
The company has also introduced a long-term promotion called ‘Free Fries Friday.’
This deal, which began in July and will continue throughout 2024, offers customers free medium fries with a minimum purchase of $1 every Friday.
