Channing Tatum has given a candid insight into what it was really like working with Hugh Jackman on the set of Deadpool and Wolverine.

The Blink Twice star, 44, said it was an ‘existential experience’ work with the Aussie hunk, 55, and see him in his superhero get-up on-set.

A self-proclaimed ‘nerd’, Channing told The Daily Telegraph he was ‘losing his mind’ being able to stand next to a comic book superhero he has admired for so long.

‘This is not anything against Wesley [Snipes], because like he truly is the Godfather, but Hugh will always be Marvel daddy to me,’ Channing said.

‘There will never be another Wolverine for me. I had a full on, existential experience just looking over and Wolverine was standing next to me.’

He added: ‘I was freaking out, I was losing my mind and the fact that he’s just such a class act and is so good at what he does, and he still cares man.’

Channing went on to say that when Hugh decides to retire from the Wolverine costume for good after 25 years, ‘there’s no one that’s going to beat it’.

The Magic Mike star isn’t the only colleague of Hugh’s to leave him a heartwarming tribute, as Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds recently reduced the Aussie actor to tears.

Ryan, 47, took to Instagram on Monday to share a series of photos chronicling his relationship with Hugh along with an expansive post detailing how the pair first met.

He also revealed how their Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration came about.

‘On August 14th, 2022, @thehughjackman stopped his car to call me,’ Ryan began.

‘He’d been having a crappy week… he’d had the flu, two flat tires and some random idiot egged his house. But what happened next, happened fast. He told me he wanted to bring The Wolverine back.’

Ryan went on to reveal the excitement he felt the first time he saw Hugh in the Wolverine suit.

‘When Hugh stepped onto set in THAT SUIT… everyone knew something special was happening. I remember thinking everything was gonna be okay,’ he said.

Ryan went on to detail the pair’s first meeting, kicking off what would become a 17-year friendship with Hugh, who Ryan called his ‘friend and favorite actor’.

‘I met him in Sydney around 2007,’ Ryan continued.

‘Back then he was already a movie star and I walked onto set a supporting actor. Showing up midway through production isn’t too dissimilar to starting a new school. I was a nervous mess.’

Ryan added that Hugh made him and the rest of the crew feel at ease, something which he had never forgotten.

‘Film sets can have a scary imbalance of power and I remember seeing how he treated every member of the crew with genuine respect and appreciation,’ Ryan said.

‘He made a case that the term “filmmaker” isn’t just for people with their name on the poster.’

Ryan continued the expansive tribute, gushing over Hugh and referring to him as THE X-Man.

‘I don’t know anyone more thoughtful, and classy than Hugh. He’ll do anything for someone he loves. He’ll do anything for someone he just met,’ he said.

‘In Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh didn’t just make dreams come true for fans of Wolverine. He made MY dreams come true too. He is THE X-Man.’

The heartwarming tribute was not lost on Hugh, who jumped into the comments to reveal Ryan’s words had made him tear up.

‘And now I’m crying again,’ Hugh wrote.
