Legendary noughties sitcom Scrubs has teased it could make an epic return in the next six months after 14 years off screen.
Premiering in 2001, Scrubs is an American medical sitcom which followed employees at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital for nine seasons in total.
And now the show’s creator Bill Lawrence has revealed that the beloved sitcom’s cast could reunite in the next ‘six months to a year’ as they all feel they have ‘stories to tell.’
Speaking to the Independent he confessed: ‘We’ve been talking about it. We all spend time with each other in real life, but everybody is so talented from that show that they’re all working.
‘We’ve really started to entertain the idea about getting the band back together because we all feel like we do have some stories to tell.

‘People in the medical community are heroes right now. They certainly aren’t doing it for the money! It’s been a crazy rough time, so I would not be surprised if we figure something out in the next six months to a year.’
While the writer hinted at bringing back the series, he confirmed he wouldn’t embark on returning with a full movie adaptation.
Scrubs was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards throughout its run and made stars out of lead actors Zach Braff and Donald Faison.
Zach played J.D. Dorian, the show’s protagonist and narrator while Donald starred as Christopher Turk, J.D.’s best friend and a surgeon who eventually becomes the chief of surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital as the series progresses.
Throughout the year’s the cast have remained in touch and Bill recently reunited with Zach for his new Apple+ crime comedy series Bad Monkey.
Zach stars as disgraced, drug-addicted doctor named Israel O’Peele, who is slightly different to his young physician character JD Dorian in Scrubs.
In March 2020, Zach and Donald launched the re-watch podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends, which is distributed by iHeartRadio.
On the podcast, which the two co-host, the former co-stars and real life BFFS share their stories and experiences from their time working on Scrubs.

Zach also previously suggested he’d been interested in making more episodes of Scrubs as he revealed that the cast would all love to reunite ‘in some capacity whether it’s a movie or a limited series or something’ but there are no current plans.
‘It’s just that we can’t do it without the king of all things Scrubs, Bill Lawrence,’ the 46-year-old New Jersey native told THR.
‘He just signed the biggest deal of all time [with Warner Bros. TV] and he is a bit busy. When Bill’s available, so sometime in 3004.
‘But in all seriousness, if the thing was right, I’m sure there’s not a single cast member that wouldn’t love to come back together and do it in some form.’
He also said in 2017: ‘It’s something we all talk about, especially now all these people are going back and doing Netflix versions of their shows.
‘I’m very jealous of all this Gilmore Girls attention, and Full House. We talk about it every now and then, so you never know. I’d do it!’
