Two women have been arrested after a man was stabbed during rush-hour on the London Underground.
Police were called to Seven Sisters underground station at 8.48am today to reports of a ‘serious assault’.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital with ‘life-threatening injuries’.
Two women have been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. One has also been arrested on suspicion of common assault.
Seven Sisters station is currently ‘exit only’, police have said, as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: ‘Officers were called to Seven Sisters underground station at 8.48am today (23 July) to reports of a serious assault.
‘Paramedics also attended and a male has been taken to hospital with injuries that are consistent with being stabbed. His injuries are believed to be life threatening.
‘Two females have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. One has also been further arrested on suspicion of common assault. They remain in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.
‘The underground station remains closed while officers investigate, and passengers will see an increased policing presence in the area.

TfL said: ‘This station is open for exit only while police respond to an incident. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses via any reasonable route.’
