alert-–-food-blogger-eats-like-donald-trump-for entire-day-then-does-the-same-with-joe-biden’s-diet-–-and-reveals-which-left-him-more-miserableAlert – Food blogger eats like Donald Trump for entire day then does the same with Joe Biden’s diet – and reveals which left him more miserable

Donald Trump is infamous for his notoriously unhealthy diet — but it turns out that Joe Biden’s is not much better.

That’s according to a social media personality who ate like the elderly politicians for an entire day. TikToker Bennett Rea, 35, concluded by the end of the experiment that not one of them has a diet that is even close to that of ‘normal people’.

Trump’s daily consumption of up to 12 Diet Cokes and a McDonald’s left Rea feeling ‘hungover’ and as though he was in a ‘Supersize Me’ experiment.

But Biden’s peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, he said, seemed almost ‘childlike’ and transported him back to his school days of brown bag lunches.

Bennett Rea, 35, revealed the Presidential diets on his TikTok cookinincongress. He is pictured above trying the Trump diet (left) and the Biden diet (right)

‘Biden’s diet was very simple really and got rid of any decision fatigue,’ he told DailyMail.com. ‘It had this very childlike quality to it’.

‘After, I felt like this diet was not meant for me. I was bored, it was bland. There wasn’t enough protein, so I was a little hungry, and sugared up from all the Gatorade.’

The writer runs the cookinwithcongress account on TikTok which reveals the diets of famous politicians and former presidents — and already boasts 20,000 followers.

Rea researched both Presidents’ diets via news articles and books.

He drew from works including Alex Prud’homme’s, ‘Dinner with the President’ — which covers both Biden and Trump’s diets — and Corey Lewandowski’s, ‘Let Trump be Trump’ — which also contains details about the former President’s food preferences.

Biden usually begins his day with a bowl of Special K and an Orange Gatorade.

For lunch, he enjoys a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple and more Gatorade, while for dinner he has Angel Hair pasta with red sauce.

Snacks include protein and Fig Newtons, as well as vanilla chocolate-chip ice cream from Haagen-Dazs.

Trump, on the other hand, normally skips breakfast. Lunch is often a steak so well done it curls up at the corners, which he eats with ketchup and, at times, a side salad of Roquefort dressing.

A typical dinner is two Big Macs, two Filet-o-Fish, a small chocolate shake and, again, a Diet Coke.

Snacks are Doritos or Lays and yet more Diet Coke — with Trump known to enjoy up to 12 cans a day.

Rea told this website: ‘Trump’s diet, I don’t understand how someone in their 60s, 70s or 80s can eat like Donald Trump for a full day.

‘It was getting too close to a “Supersize Me” experiment and a feeling of I won’t do this for more than a day because I have health concerns.

‘The next day, I felt hungover like I had just had a jug of red wine, I couldn’t focus.

‘I took half a day off work, I walked around town and felt nauseous, it was rough, I only started to feel better the next day.’

Overall, Trump consumed twice as much salt as recommended in a day — with his diet estimated to contain 4,400milligrams (mg), well above the 2,300mg maximum listed in the FDA’s dietary guidelines.

He also consumed twice as much protein and fat as recommended — and has an estimated 3,200 calories every 24 hours, or just above the up to 3,000 per day the FDA says men should stick to.

Biden’s diet, on the other hand, was sugar-heavy — with the President consuming nearly seven times the American Heart Association’s daily recommended amount for men.

He also makes his way through an estimated 2,600 calories per day, or at the lower end of the recommended 2,600 to 3,000 recommended for men. His protein and fat consumption was within FDA guidelines.

Rea said following Biden’s diet left him ‘bored as hell’ and feeling like he was eating ‘edible food for someone on the older end of the spectrum’.

Trump’s diet left him with the same stuffed feeling that someone gets after a Thanksgiving dinner and in this ‘strange aggressive stance’ — where he wasn’t sure if he wanted to fight or lie down.

He also said he had eaten twice the amount of salt that is recommended in a day — and that he was proud of himself for eating so much fast food.

Describing how it impacted his stress levels, he added: ‘At one point during the Trump diet, I actually ended up saying to my wife, “I can’t really talk to you right now, I just ned to be alone with all this food that’s in my stomach”.’

I ate exactly like President Joe Biden for an entire day, did it make me feel ready for high stakes debates, domestic turmoil and tackling inflation? #presidents #biden #weirdfood #congress #gatorade

Eating exactly like Donald Trump for an entire day. I do not like ketchup generally so that on top of well-done steak was somehow the lowlight even though I consumed FOUR McDonald’s fast food sandwiches for dinner like a 17-year old on a bulk. I woke up with what I can only describe as a hangover. #presidents #trump #election2024 #weirdfood #mukbang #recipesoftiktok

Neither Presidents’ diet contained alcohol, with Trump claiming to be a lifelong teetotaler — which he says was because he watched his brother Fred struggle with alcoholism and die from it — while Biden also doesn’t drink after witnessing the effects of alcohol on his family.

Rea said he missed having a glass of wine or beer in the evening while he was on the Presidential diets.

Biden’s diet also lacked caffeine, with the President not often drinking coffee these days — which is believed to be down to personal preference.

Mr Rea said this left him feeling ‘bored’, as he likes to start his day with a cup-and-a-half of coffee.

The two videos have wracked up more than a million views, with the Biden clip gaining 1.7million while Trump’s is at 1.3million at time of publication.

On Biden’s video, one viewer commented: ‘So Joe Biden is my 17-year-old. He has eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwiches almost every day since he was 18mos. I remember him asking for it then.’

A second said, ‘I’m honestly surprised it’s not worse… my grandma eats a bowl of cottage cheese and then either tuna Salad or barley soup for dindin.’

On the Trump video, one person said, ‘my blood pressure isn’t liking that McDonald’s, while a second said, ‘my body hurts just watching this’, and a third said, ‘silly me, I was worried about his protein intake for a minute’.

Rea said his family loved the experiment and thought it was ‘funny’ that he was trying to eat like a President.

Some friends also said they hadn’t seen him eat like that since he was 14 or 15 years old, when he used to often enjoy a bag of Doritos.

Rea said when he was five years old he announced that he wanted to be the President and also a professional chef — with his channel being a continuation of that childhood dream.

He enjoys cooking regularly at home, where he will often whip up spicy or Moroccan dishes — but he says he has no professional experience in an industrial kitchen.

He also worked for a distillery for more than six years, where he helped mix cocktails and even create some new ones for the menu.

He is currently working on videos revealing the diets of other past Presidents including Barack Obama and Theodore Roosevelt — which are set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
