Season 20 of Channel Nine’s hit reality series The Block will hit TV screens in August.

A teaser trailer for the anticipated series offered a first glimpse at the five teams set to compete on the highly anticipated series, set on Phillip Island in Victoria.

The preview kicks off with host Scott Cam and Shelly Craft in a helicopter heading towards a lush island, before offering a tease of the participating couples.

‘I tell ya, this is going to be the greatest one,’ Cam promises. ‘Shell, this year I’m taking this in a whole new direction.’

Once the duo land, Craft asks, ‘Where are we Scotty?’ to which he responds, ‘Paradise’.

The voiceover describes the location as a ‘land like no other,’ while Scotty says, ‘Welcome to Block Island.’

The voiceover later adds the line, ‘the Aussie dream goes tropical’.

Taking to social media, fans were quick to point out that Phillip Island is far from a tropical paradise.

‘Careful, you’ll set off the Victorians,’ a third wrote.

Meanwhile, a Phillip Island local added: ‘I love the hype but as a Phillip Island resident it’s not tropical here.’
