MSNBC host Joy Reid lashed out at a right-wing journalist who asked her if she’d stolen former president Donald Trump’s haircut.
Ben Bergquam, a conservative internet personality, poked fun at Reid’s short blonde haircut during one his Real America’s Voice News videos.
‘Joy – just wondering,’ he said as he caught the MSNBC national correspondent, 55, on her way into Trump’s NYC trial.
‘Do you think people with Trump-derangement syndrome know they have it,’ he prodded at Reid.
‘You’re an idiot,’ she responded. ‘You are a f***cking idiot.’
Bergquam kept pressing Reid, ‘Second question – did you steal Trump’s haircut or did he steal yours… Cultural appropriation haircut,’ he shouted at her.
He then chuckled to himself and told the camera, ‘she didn’t like that too much. Joy Reid everybody. Trump-derangement syndrome.’
This is not the first time Reid has been caught using explicit language on camera. In January, she was videoed swearing about the prospect of another war in the Middle East when she forgot to turn her microphone off.
The MSNBC pundit was airing a clip of President Joe Biden giving a speech about the border crisis when she said ‘starting another f**king war’.
Her remark to others in the studio was presumably about the fallout from a drone strike by Iran-backed militants on a US base in Jordan that killed three soldiers.
Biden has not yet launched any retaliatory strikes but there is discussion in Washington about a military response.
Before the hot mic moment, Reid was attacking Republican leaders who vote against White House policies, then take credit for the benefits afterwards.
