A man who was stabbed in the neck in a random attack is fighting for his life in hospital.
Emergency services attended at a private property on Alfred Street, Kingaroy in Queensland just before 12.30am Sunday morning after reports of a serious wounding.
A 42-year-old Kingaroy man was found with critical injuries after sustaining a laceration on the back of his neck.
The man was treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a critical condition.
He has since been airlifted to Brisbane.
It is believed another man who is not known to the 42-year-old, left the scene before police arrived.
Queensland Police are urging for anyone to come forward who may have seen anything suspicious around the time of the incident.
They are also appealing to anyone who may have relevant dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
