A teen has been killed in a horror crash while on a ‘dream road trip’ to watch Taylor Swift’s concert and her little sister is in a critical condition following the accident. 

The 16-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister were in a vehicle driving down from Queensland to Melbourne when the SUV they were in collided with a semi-trailer in Dunedoo Road, Ballimore near Dubbo in western NSW on Thursday around 6pm. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the collision but the teenager could not be saved. 

She was understood to have been sitting in the front passenger seat at the time of crash.  

The girl’s younger sister who was sitting in the back of the vehicle was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The ten-year-old girl is fighting for life and is understood to be in a coma with brain injuries. 

She also suffered a broken pelvis and leg.  

The driver of the semi-trailer had minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition. 

The mother of the two girls who was driving the family SUV sustained several injuries following the crash and was also taken to Dubbo Hospital. 

The two teenage girls along with their mother who live on the Gold Coast were heading down to Melbourne ahead of Swift’s sold out concert at the MCG. 

The pop superstar kicked off the n leg of her Era’s tour in Melbourne on Friday night with around 96,000 fans in attendance.

The godmother of the two girls Karliegh Fox said the pair were very much looking forward attending the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s concert. 

‘This was supposed to be a road trip of a lifetime with them going to concerts in both Melbourne and Sydney,’ she told the Courier Mail.

A GoFuneMe page was set up on Friday arrange funds for girl’s and their family with almost $12,000 with a target of $20,000

Police have established a crime scene as officers continue to investigate the incident. 

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
