An American Airlines plane has skidded off the runway and on to the grass at Rochester Airport in New York as it landed, passengers on board have reported. 

The aircraft, with 53 people on board, flew in from Philadelphia and was scheduled to land at at around 4pm before it reportedly slid off the runway amidst the snowy conditions. 

There have not been any reported injuries but emergency services are responding to the area. 

‘My AmericanAir plane just ran off the runway into the grass at @ROCAirport. Happy landings,’ one passenger wrote on X.

DailyMail.com has contacted American Airlines and Rochester Airport for comment.

The AA5811 flight from Philadelphia, which skidded on to the grass, had 53 people on board and there were no injuries. 

‘We just landed and were taxiing back. The pilot while taxiing took the turn too quickly and we skidded into the grass,’ another passenger who lives in Rochester wrote on X. 

‘The plane is fine and everyone is ok they’re just not telling us anything about when we are getting off.’
