alert-–-emmy-awards-2024:-yellowjackets-star-sophie-thatcher-stuns-in-a-satin-green-gown-alongside-elegant-samantha-hanratty-on-the-red-carpetAlert – Emmy Awards 2024: Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher stuns in a satin green gown alongside elegant Samantha Hanratty on the red carpet

Sophie Thatcher stunned in an eye-catching gown alongside her co-star, Samantha Hanratty, who exuded elegance as they attended the 75th Annual Emmy Awards in L.A. on Monday.

The Yellowjackets actress, 23, joined her fellow castmate, 28, while strutting on the red carpet with other celebrities, including Padma Lakshmi and Claire Danes.

The glamorous ceremony – which is dubbed as television’s biggest night – was held at the Peacock Theater and hosted by actor and comedian, Anthony Anderson.

Thatcher turned heads wearing a long-sleeved, satin green dress that fell down to brush the ground and contained a scooped neckline at the front.

She opted for minimal accessories to allow the ensemble to be the main focal point, and added a pair of dangly earrings as well as a few rings on each of her hands for a flashy flare.

Her dark locks were parted in the middle and flowed down past her shoulders in light waves, allowing her bangs to gently fall onto her forehead.

Sophie’s makeup was classically done, and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a warm blush that was added to her cheekbones.

For a finishing touch, The Book Of Boba Fett star also chose to wear a peach-colored, matte tint to her lips.

Samantha also wowed as she arrived to the venue before the ceremony officially kicked off.

She donned a strapless, cream-colored gown that contained a full skirt as well as lace details on both the bodice and the hem.

The beauty opted for a pair of mini, rhinestone earrings as well as a sparkling, silver necklace to accessorize her look for the big day.

Her brunette locks were pulled back and styled into a low up do, also allowing her bangs to easily fall onto her forehead.

Hanratty’s makeup was glammed up, and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a smoky shadow around her eyes.

A light pink blush was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow, while a nude-colored, matte tint was worn on her lips to complete the look.

Yellowjackets received an assortment of nominations at the event, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Melanie Lynskey.

The thriller drama – which airs on Showtime – also garnered a nod for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.

The second season of the critically acclaimed show premiered last year in March 2023, and has also been renewed for a third.

The series – which follows two different timelines – follows the premise of, ‘A wildly talented high school girls’ soccer team become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Canadian wilderness,’ per IMDB.

Other stars that appear in the project include Christina Ricci – who was nominated for a Golden Globe earlier this month – as well as Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress and Lauren Ambrose.

Sophie is known for portraying the younger version of the character, Natalie, in the series.

And most recently, she appeared in an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Boogeyman – which was released last year in June.

‘I’ve always been drawn to darker stories, but this role was right up my alley because she also has an incredible arc,’ she told NME in May 2023 while talking about the horror flick.

‘There’s definitely heaviness in her at the beginning because she’s just lost her mom. And the story, at its core, is about a family grieving and those convoluted family dynamics…’

And Samantha took on the role of a younger Misty in Yellowjackets, and she recently opened up about her character during an interview with Variety.

At one point, the actress expressed, ‘I think that she really just is somebody who takes what she can get in the moment, and she doesn’t think about consequences.’

‘Even when something bad happens, she has a way of turning it into everybody else’s fault. She becomes kind of like a little kid. She’s always going to turn it on somebody else.’
