Two men have died after a light plane crashed at the entrance of a golf course. 

The light aircraft crashed on Bruckner Hill Road at the Boonah Golf Club, at  Dugandan in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, at 11.57am on Sunday.

No mayday call was made from the plane, police believe. 

Details like the men’s ages and the experience of the pilot are yet to be confirmed. 

Acting Inspector Kerry Olsen said the pilot had appeared to be attempting to land at Boonah Airfield when the plane went down. 

She said the scene would have been ‘absolutely’ confronting for first responders.  

‘Tragically, two people have lost their lives as a result of that crash. Emergency services are still on the scene,’ she said on Sunday.

‘We have police with the families of the two persons who were on that plane. We wish those families every possible amount of support.’

It’s understood nearby golfers who witnessed the crash called emergency services, with paramedics rushing to treat the two critical patients. 

Acting Inspector Olsen said the n Transport Safety Bureau was following their investigation but was yet to visit the crash scene. 

‘They will be participating and providing subject matter expertise,’ she said. 

Anybody who witnessed the crash, or people with footage of planes flying in the area at the time, have been urged to contact police.
