Zoë Kravitz is ready, willing and waiting to dive in to the upcoming new season of the HBO hit black comedy-drama series Big Little Lies.
Originally slated to be limited one-and-done series, the show is poised to start production on a season three, according to co-stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, as reported by several outlets such as Elle.
However, she did admit that she knows ‘nothing’ about the story or the logistics of season three, but was quick to add that she’s ‘excited to do it.’
‘I’m waiting to see, like everybody else, the third season that’s happening … waiting by the phone, waiting for the script to be done,’ Kravitz, 35, told People recently.
The actress, who has been out promoting her directorial debut Blink Twice that she co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum in recent weeks, plays Bonnie Carlson on Big Little Lies, the wife of Nathan Carlson (James Tupper).

When asked where she would like Bonnie’s storyline to go in the new episodes, Kravitz immediately pounced on her personal live crisis.
‘Good question,’ the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet responded. ‘I think Bonnie’s divorced — that’s good for her.’
Big Little Lies first premiered on HBO in February 2017 and was a hit with viewers who, in particular, expressed their love of the story and the amazing ensemble cast.
That cast of leading ladies consists of Kravitz, Kidman, Witherspoon, along with Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley, who were joined by Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling, Kathryn Newton, and Iain Armitage, among others.
The first season received 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, which translated to eight wins, including Outstanding Limited Series and awards for Kidman, Skarsgård, and Dern, as well as seven Golden Globe noms, winning four such as Best Miniseries Or Television Film for season one.
Created by television mogul David E. Kelley, who just happens to be the husband of MIchelle Pfeiffer, the show has received critical acclaim, particularly for its writing, directing, acting, production values, cinematography and soundtrack.
Based on the 2014 Liane Moriarty book of the same name, the black comedy drama was originally intended to be a miniseries. but, after seeing the positive reaction from fans those at the network decided to move forward and produce a second season.
And by moving forward show producers looked to add some new blood of characters into the mix, and eventually they were able to land one of the greatest and respected actresses, Meryl Streep, to the season two cast.

Meryl Streep joined the cast for season two of Big Little Lies in 2019; so far no word on who will be part of the cast for season three
Other newcomers to the second season includes Douglas Smith, Crystal R. Fox, Martin Donovan, Denis O’Hare, Becky Ann Baker, Mo McRae, and Poorna Jagannathan.
While the details haven’t been released on what fans can expect, and how many episodes it will entail, the first two popular seasons both consisted of seven episodes in total.
Blink Twice, which marks Kravitz’s first time helming a feature film, stars her fiancé Channing Tatum in the lead as a tech billionaire who’s trying to repair his image after being accused of wrongdoing, who brings women back to his sketchy island.

The psychological thriller only just premiered in theaters on August 23 after making its premiere earlier in the month in Los Angeles, for which some of her Big Little Lies colleagues attended.
‘They’re so cool,’ The Batman star said of Dern, 57, and Witherspoon, 48, for showing their support, before adding how ‘it’s just so cool that they came.’
She continued, ‘Everybody’s busy and working, and they have families, and all of that, and so I think … they don’t just talk the talk, she explained. ‘They really show up like that, both publicly and privately.’
