A 15-year-old girl has died after being hit by a ute.
The young girl was walking on the Bruxner Highway in East Lismore, in New South Wales’ north-east, when she was struck by a trailer about 5pm on Wednesday.
Witnesses performed first aid before paramedics arrived and rushed her to Lismore Base Hospital, where she died.
The 42-year-old male driver of the ute and trailer was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
‘Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing,’ NSW Police said in a statement.
