Two young boys have died after being left inside a car in rural Queensland.
A two-year-old boy was rushed to the local hospital in Woorabinda, some 170km west of Rockhampton, at 7.48pm on Friday night.
The boy had been found inside a parked car on Richardson Street unconscious and not breathing.
Paramedics met the private car carrying the boy at the hospital and a rescue helicopter was on standby.
However, attempts to resuscitate him failed and the toddler was declared dead before he arrived.
When Queensland Police officers attended the property and inspected the parked car at about 9.15pm, they found a second boy, aged three, inside.
He was rushed to hospital but also declared dead.
A crime scene was declared and detectives are investigating the circumstances of the deaths.
The relationship between the boys is not known.
Police will hold a press conference Saturday afternoon.
