A Florida woman has been accused of murdering her roommate two years after she vanished on Christmas Day.
Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was taken into custody for allegedly killing Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, 42, who was last seen on December 25, 2022.
The suspect was ultimately nabbed at her house in Hartford, Connecticut and was charged with second degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and grand theft.
Footage from the moment shows Gonzalez, sporting a bright red dress and some kind of bonnet or cap, as she is perp-walked by an officer.
She keeps her handcuffed wrists clasped together as she shuffles into a waiting elevator.
Pachecho was reported missing on December 27 by Gonzalez, according to the Orlando Police Department.
While executing a search warrant of their house at the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road, responding officers found significant evidence ‘indicating that a violent incident’ had occurred.
As the investigation continued, detectives discovered numerous inconsistencies in Gonzalez’s version of events.
Detectives from multiple law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal levels ultimately discovered the accused was residing in Hartford, CT.
‘After traveling to Hartford, CT and conducting an additional interview with her, investigators developed probable cause to charge Gonzalez,’ they stated in a Facebook post.
The Department also thanked the Hartford Police Department for their support in the press release.
Despite years of search, Pacheco’s body has yet to be found.
Officials have asked anyone with information to contact the Orlando Police Department Homicide Unit or call Crimeline.
This comes over two months after another Florida woman who was last seen heading out for a jog was found dead five days later.
Arielle Valdes, 21, was last seen in surveillance footage leaving her home for a run in Fort Myers on Wednesday.
Following an exhaustive search, her remains were found by a dive crew late Monday in the mangroves along the bank of the Calhoosahatchee River.
The body was discovered within minutes of a water search crew departing a nearby dock.
Final footage shared by the sheriff’s office showed the 21-year-old jogging along the Edison Bridge, with her body discovered in mangroves between the Edison and Calhoosahatchee bridges, reports NBC2.
Officials have not offered a cause of death, but the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said there is no initial suggestion of foul play.
