A Wizz Air passenger became embroiled in a bizarre row with a fellow traveller who demanded she stop recording herself – seemingly because they thought they were too famous to be on camera.

Paris Johnson was jetting back to London after a getaway in Hungary when she awoke 15 minutes before landing, quickly whipping out her phone to check her hair.

But as the 18-year-old gently combed through her dark tresses, a woman ordered her to stop recording because she didn’t want to be filmed – despite not being on camera.

In the now-viral TikTok, which has amassed over 28 million views, the woman whose seat is separated by an aisle commanded the youngster to stop recording.

When Paris tells the woman that she is not in the clip, the passenger can be heard saying that she does not want people to know she is there, protesting she had a ‘recognisable’ voice.

The traveller continues to demand Paris stop filming, saying: ‘They can probably hear me breathing. I don’t want them to know that I’m here.’

At first the holidaying teen erupts into laughter, initially believing her fellow passenger’s request was a joke, quipping: ‘Are you joking?’

Covering her mouth in shock, Paris continued to film pointing out that an entire aisle was separating her and the woman, who could not be seen in the video.

Asserting that she had ‘every right to record’ herself, Paris does not let up despite her fellow passenger’s relentless demands.

Paris eventually goes to move seats however the plane was due to land, leaving her and the ‘famous’ woman seated near each other – engaged in a blazing row.

The college graduate didn’t recognise the woman and added that she was acting ‘normal’ before the incident ensued.

Paris, who lives in Liverpool, Merseyside, said: ‘Everything was going fine, the passengers were quite normal.

‘I remember falling asleep with my hoodie backwards and I took my phone to check my hair, 15 minutes before landing.

‘She said, can you stop recording me? I thought she was joking.

‘She looked quite young, so I thought she was joking. Her face was quite serious so I realised she’s not joking.

‘She was claiming to be famous but I didn’t recognise her and a lot of people haven’t recognised her either.

‘She thought people would recognise her from her voice but people are still confused.

‘I asked one of the flight attendants to move me because it was getting serious now but I think they forgot about me because we were about to land.

‘I’m just happy I recorded because it is funny now looking back, someone having an ego boost like this.’

Social media users flooded the comments, attempting to guess who the mystery woman was – but Paris said they have not found her.

Other questioned if the video was real or staged, however the 18-year-old said that she did not know the woman at all.

‘Lots of people said it was a skit, a lot of people have assumed it was some other famous people and tagged them,’ she said.

‘She was claiming she was famous but I didn’t recognise her and a lot of people haven’t recognised her either.

‘It was random how people were tagging other famous people thinking that it’s them but it was honestly none of those people.’

‘Now I’m wondering who that was. And I’m probably sure I don’t know her,’ one person said.

A second quipped: ‘This lady wasn’t even in the video. Her voice wasn’t even in the video until SHE decided to be in and make her presence known…’

Another viewer added: ‘No one knew she was there until she mentioned it!’

Others took to the comments to praise Paris for ‘standing up for herself’, however some sided with the complainant saying they wouldn’t want to be in a video either.

One said: ‘I get the other person’s point, I’m not famous but maybe I just don’t feel like being seen in people’s videos.’

Wizz Air declined to comment.
