Taylor Swift is set to marry her boyfriend Travis Kelce after the couple confirmed their engagement with an Instagram post on Tuesday.
The pop icon and the NFL star, both 35, announced their bombshell marriage news with a romantic photoshoot showing Kelce proposing in a rose garden, which Swift captioned: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’
As the world’s richest female musician, Taylor has built up an estimated $1.6billion fortune thanks to her album sales and record-breaking world tours.
Travis, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, is thought to have a net worth of $90million.
So news of their engagement is sure to set tongues wagging that the star may consider a pre-nuptial agreement in order to protect her assets.

Sarah Jane Boon, Partner of Charles Russell Speechlys law firm who is known for advising on financial matters, weighed in and told Daily Mail: ‘As one of the most successful music artists in the world, Taylor Swift has much to look to protect in a pre-nuptial agreement, not least her hugely valuable back catalogue of music, developed over two decades in the period prior to her relationship with Travis Kelce.
‘Like many who consider entering into a pre-nuptial agreement, Swift and Kelce may look to put in a place an agreement that ringfences the assets they have respectively built up prior to their marriage but provides for them to share in what they will go on to build as a married couple.’
In her engagement post, Taylor revealed her mammoth diamond engagement ring – the stunning band is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut and appears to be from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. It is worth an estimated $675,000 to $1 million.
The couple went public with their relationship in September 2023 when the singer appeared alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, at a Kansas City Chiefs game.
Since that day their romance has captivated the world, with Swift supporting Kelce’s run to two Super Bowls while the NFL star has traveled alongside her around the globe on her wildly successful Eras tour.
Throughout that time, Travis has faced repeated scrutiny over his future plans with the singer.
And now he has got down on one knee and popped the question just days before the beginning of what many expect to be his final NFL season.
He was pictured in Kansas City earlier this week at the launch of a documentary about the team but he appeared at the event without Swift.

In the wake of the announcement, Taylor, Travis and her hit Love Story began trending.
Prior to Travis, Taylor was in a six-year romance with actor Joe Alwyn, 34, which ended in April 2023. She then briefly dated The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, 36.

The sportsman famously spoke on his podcast about attending one of Taylor’s concerts in July 2023 and being disappointed when they couldn’t meet, revealing he’d even brought a friendship bracelet to give to her.
She compared Travis to a John Hughes movie character, joking he was outside her window with a boombox yelling: ‘I wanna date you! Do you wanna go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet. Do you wanna date me?’
