Will Mellor has revealed his isn’t happy with his local council after they ignored him.

The actor, 47, shared a clip to Instagram showing a large tree that had fallen down due to Storm Henk on Tuesday.

Will had previously warned the council about the ‘dead trees’ and fumed that ‘it could’ve killed someone!’

He explained: ‘I have just come out of the house because of the wind and I was looking at the trees. I was putting my decorations down outside and look this has just happened.’

Will added: ‘The tree has been completely ripped out of the ground. I have been telling the council about these trees for years because they are dead. I knew something was going to happen. It could’ve killed someone. Look at that!’

He then warned his followers: ‘Don’t go outside.’

Londoners were urged to stay indoors today as the Met Office issued an urgent amber warning for Storm Henk, which was was dramatically named by meteorologists just one hour before it hit at 10am on Tuesday.

Forecasters predicted it would bring ‘very wild outdoor conditions’ until 8pm, with Mayor Sadiq Khan warning of a ‘potential risk to life and property’ in London.

It comes after Will opened up about how his family home was targeted for identity theft in a money laundering scandal in 2022.

Will shares his home with his wife Michelle McSween, who he married in 2007 and their two children, Jayden, 19, and Renee, 15.

The actor told about the ‘scary’ moment he caught a fraudster moving tens of thousands through bank accounts under his name by hijacking his mailbox.

He revealed that he saw a man loitering by his home who he didn’t recognise.

Will didn’t think too much of it until his neighbour told him they had seen the man a few times and caught them with their hand in his letterbox.

Curious to find out what he was doing, Will asked his postman if he had seen him. His courier revealed that he had then pointed to his car, which was driving into his street.

Will walked over to the car, but before confronting the man, he sped off down a side street.

He said: ‘I took a picture of his number plate and then I have a CCTV, all around my house, but at the front, I have a CCTV on my gate, and I went and checked the CCTV and wound it back to the last time the policeman was there.

‘And I got him on camera, literally, with his hands in my letterbox, taking out mail and going through it and walking away with it in broad daylight middle of the day, as when the postman comes. I alerted the police.

‘But then I found out what he was doing was he was intercepting the mail.

‘So before I saw it, he would be getting it because he’d opened, or his gang or whoever it was, several bank accounts in my name.

‘Obviously, with my address on, and there was £20,000 in one, £10,000 in another, and there was obviously laundering money, but, if anything would have happened, it would have come back to me.

‘And obviously, the credit score it would have been, you know, my credit score would have been gone. And so it was bad, really bad.

‘And it had been going on for months for him to have all this money in.

‘So I looked at the police and I had to go and try and shut these accounts down, which was really hard.’

Will, who is in partnership with Shred-it, explained that there are still accounts open now with the fraudster’s money in and claims he cannot close them.

He said that the banks made it incredibly difficult for him to stop the laundering and says he wishes it was harder for people to open accounts as more than £50,000 was being moved in his name.

The Strictly star said: ‘What if my kids caught him? That is the thing.

‘It’s scary that they’re coming to my house. They didn’t care who was watching because it was broad daylight.

‘You’re talking one o’clock in the afternoon when your when your postman comes.

‘And the postman was absolutely fuming because he was obviously following the post guy around.

‘I don’t know whether I’m the only one. There could be multiple, so he just knows what time the postman’s coming. He follows him around. When the postman’s left, he’s in the letterbox, and he’s taken out all the information that he doesn’t want me to find out.

‘So all the bank statements that have been sent.’

Will said he has not seen the suspected crook since he tried to confront him, but he said the experience has changed him as he is now more cautious of where he is keeping his mail.

Will is now helping to encourage businesses to send all their unwanted confidential papers to Shred-it so that personal information is safely destroyed.
