A woman has been tasered, kicked and hit with a baton during a tense standoff with police after she allegedly threatened to set a 7-Eleven on fire.
The 46-year-old woman was captured on CCTV at a petrol station in Windsor, in Melbourne’s south-east, about 12.30am on Wednesday.
Victoria Police rushed to the scene following reports a woman had allegedly lit a fire inside a 7-Eleven and assaulted a worker.
In the CCTV, the woman was seen crouching outside the servo as two police officers slowly approached her with a Taser drawn.
After the woman allegedly refused to comply with their orders, one of the officers ran towards her and struck her on the leg and upper body.
Both officers then chased the woman across the petrol station before deploying the Taser when she refused to stop.
The woman fell to the ground beside a petrol bowser.
She was arrested and walked to a waiting police van.
Firefighters put out a small fire inside the petrol station.
Police said the 7-Eleven attendant was not physically injured in the alleged assault.
The woman has been charged with criminal damage by fire, theft, resist police and unlawful assault and will appear at Melbourne’s Magistrates Court on May 2.
