A punk icon’s widow has written an exceptionally graphic memoir detailing sex with another punk rocker – and responded to his anger at her revelations by hinting at a sequel.
The book, ‘A Year on Earth with Mr. Hell,’ written by Young Kim, 52, recounts her explicit affair with Richard Hell, now 74, a pioneering 70 musician.
Hell, real name Richard Lester Meyers, inspired the look of the 70s’ British punk rock band the Sex Pistols. And after the death of Sex Pistols manager Malcom McLaren in 2010, he began a passionate affair with Kim, who is McLaren’s widow.
In the 254-page memoir, Kim takes the reader into the first ten months of their steamy love affair that started during the winter of 2016.
The first sex scene occurs just a few pages into the memoir after a boozy night together in 2016.
Young recalls Hell ‘gliding his fingers underneath the fiery red fabric’ of her gauzy bra.
In terms too graphic to reproduce, Young says Hell looked at the ‘puddle of stockings and underwear around my ankles,’ before barking ‘take them off.’

Richard Hell, was described a rock pioneer and was the author’s subject in her book, ‘A Year On Earth With Richard Hell’
She said he made an ‘mmm’ sound ‘like a happy purring motor’ while performing oral sex on her, with Hells’ ‘incredible skill’ meaning Kim ‘could feel the orgasm building.’
Their encounter continued, with Kim saying Hell’s foreplay meant she was ‘transported into convulsive ecstasy’ that made her ‘involuntarily shriek softly with pleasure.’
Hell, who was 22 years her senior, suggested that Kim document some of what they had ‘done together sexually,’ and so she did in vivid, raw detail.
But he is outraged that she has since decided to share it with the world.
Her former lover, adored what Kim had penned early on, when she first shared her first entries, but more than 200 pages later, she couldn’t stop. The book is now the toast of the literary world, with American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis saying he’d devoured it in one sitting.
Hell, however, has not been keen about her work and claimed that he never approved of it and called it ‘revenge porn.’

Hell relented in an email to The New York Times about Kim’s book.
‘How would you feel if you dated someone briefly, including having sex, and it turned out that they were writing about it behind your back and eventually published that misbegotten, uncomprehending — but full of false detail — account of the affair, with a focus on the sex, using your real name?’
Despite his angst, Kim appeared to have cherished their time together.

‘Richard, I have to say, elevates sex to an artwork,’ she said.
Though she noted that she was ‘a kind of muse to Malcolm,’ during a previous interview.
She called, ‘Richard is my muse.’
‘I’d never written anything dirty in my life, but I was willing to try,’ she wrote in the book’s introduction.
‘I sent it, and he loved it, just as I had loved writing it.’
Kim’s writings soon morphed into a book that has received rave reviews for her raw, honest accounts of their intimate relationships based on her point-of- view.
The book is dedicated to her both former loves. ‘For Malcolm and Richard.’
Another highly suggestive entry in her diary reads: ‘He started to kiss me again and held me close before taking a half-step back to unzip my dress.’
‘He unzipped the dress, just enough to my wait, just enough to reveal the mercurochrome red gauze bra with black satin straps and bow. He stroked my breasts, gliding his fingers underneath the fiery red fabric, then unhooking the bra in the back,’ she wrote.

Many have described her work as riveting a page turner that they could not put down. And, one person described it ‘more than a memoir … but truly a modern work of art.’
In a shrewd move, Kim has even tied up with New York’s Standard Hotel after boasting of passionate sex with Hell in its ‘sexy’ surroundings.
Despite her former’s lovers angst, she stood by her work: ‘Writing this book I have only done what men have done unapologetically (and I do not think they should apologize) since time immemorial: choose my work over my relationship.’
She added that she has kept in mind something the artist Michael Heizer once told her: ‘Any work of art of any worth (not a Hallmark card) is going to upset someone.’
