Scott Peterson’s former mistress Amber Frey is heavily featured in the new Netflix documentary American Murder: Laci Peterson.
Frey, a massage therapist from Fresno, California, was unknowingly Scott’s mistress for weeks before he killed his heavily-pregnant wife Laci on December 24, 2002.
She was considered by the prosecutors as a motivating factor for Scott to commit the double murder of Laci and his unborn son Conner.
Frey, 49, helped the California police secretly compile evidence against Scott by recording conversations with him and was the key witness in his murder trial.
After being found guilty on two counts of the murder of Laci and his son Conner, Scott was sentenced to death by lethal injection in 2004.
The California Supreme Court overturned his death sentence in 2020..
Since the murder trial that gripped the world, Frey was been keeping a low-profile and still lives in Fresno, California.
She married American police officer Robert Hernandez in 2006, according to Yahoo, and divorced two years later.

Amber has two children, daughter Ayiana and son Justin, with an unknown partner, who were born before her relationship with Peterson.
In 2007, Frey opened up a day spa in a suburb of Fresno.
She enjoys staying fit and keeping active and has a public Instagram page, where she frequently shares photos of herself working out.
She later recounted her experiences with the wife killer in a 2005 tell-all book called Witness, in which she discussed how she became involved with Scott and later helped the police arrest him.
The blonde beauty was said to be uncomfortable with the level of fame she received after the trial and worked hard to return to a relatively normal life.
Frey told the US Today Show in 2015 that while her decision to help the police arrest Scott forever changed her life, she didn’t regret doing it.
‘I’m still very recognisable, it’s never gone away in that sense. It changed my life. My children’s,’ Frey began.
‘I don’t regret anything. As crazy as it sounds, I would do it all over again. It wasn’t about me. There’s a missing woman carrying a child. If I had something to say that would help, yeah, without question.’

Frey recently returned to the public eye by appearing in two episodes of the Netflix true crime documentary American Murder: Laci Peterson, where she discussed her experiences with Scott.
She cunningly kept her relationship going while helping police nail him as the suspect in the chilling murder case.
Peterson had been married to Laci for five years when she disappeared on December 24, 2002, after taking their dog for a walk.

Frey, who was a single mum to her young daughter at the time, revealed she had just finished school in California when one of her friends told her that there was this ‘handsome guy’ who was looking to ‘meet the one,’ and introduced her to Peterson.
Speaking on Netflix’s new series, Amber said of her blossoming new relationship with Scott: ‘We started talking on the phone. I thought he was handsome, he had a really nice smile, he had a good head on his shoulders.’
During their courtship, which she said started around November 2002, Amber asked Scott if he had ever been married – and he said no.
When she asked if he wanted kids in the future, Amber recalls he said that her own daughter Ayiana ‘would be enough.’
