The cost of living is tough at the moment – but one Wendy’s customer has shared the savvy way he’s keeping his expenses down, while sparking a flurry of furious debate in the process.
In his TikTok video, a man known online as @the_realcream filmed himself making the most of the burger chain’s condiments station inside one of its eateries.
The New York native started off his video by saying, ‘S**t is getting way too expensive,’ as he showed how he replenished his at-home supplies without spending any money.
‘What I do is I bring my old ketchup bottle and I refill it right here,’ the content creator explains as he shows himself at the condiments station, which is stocked with a bulk container of ketchup and mini plastic containers.

‘Take all the napkins. Only at Wendy’s.’

A TikTok creator by the name of ‘The_realcream’ recorded a video in Wendy’s
The TikTok creator’s video got more than 12,500 views and divided opinions – but some admitted to doing the same at different stores.
One person wrote: ‘Chipotle forks and spoons are top tier. I always be grabbing handfuls.’
‘Lmaoo next video is gas station creamer,’ another added humorously.
‘Guilty,’ a third admitted.
A fourth wanted to keep the tip on the down-low, commenting: ‘They gonna start charging $.25 for those now.’
But others looked down on the act.
One person wrote: ‘Nothings free kids.’
Another added: ‘And you’re proud of this accomplishment.’

The TikTok creator responded: ‘Hell yeah, I love free s**t.’
‘Wow. You must be desperate,’ someone else wrote.
But the Wendy’s customer hit back: ‘You know how expensive disposable shot glasses are.’
Party City sells 150 clear plastic portion cups with lids that are 1.5 ounces for $10.
A 32-ounce bottle of ketchup increased in price by nearly 28 per cent, going from $4.08 in 2022 to $5.22 on average in 2023, according to CNN.
The condiments may seem endless in supply, with Wendy’s having a net worth of $3.98 billion.
But other food chains have been negatively impacted due to customer’s requests for more ketchup or sauces.
In 2021 Chick-fil-A announced that due to ‘industry-wide shortages,’ customers could ‘only have one sauce per entrée, two sauces per meal and three sauces for a 30-count of nuggets.’
