The Confessions hitmaker has clarified rumours he was the Crazy In Love hitmaker’s ‘manny’ when he was put in charge of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Kelly Rowland in during their pre-Destiny’s Child days as The Dolls.

Appearing on Club Shay Shay this week, he told host Shannon Sharpe the girls were pre-teens at the time.

‘Daryl Simmons, he had a group by the name of The Dolls, and they came to Atlanta for the first time.

‘This is before Destiny’s Child became Destiny’s Child. I think I looked over them while they [were] doing something in the house.

‘I had to watch over ’cause I was like the, you know, the authority ’cause I guess I was the teenager at the time.’

He added: ‘[I was] making certain that they didn’t, you know, get in no trouble in the house at the time.’

He admitted that even at such a young age, Beyonce ‘had a talent and also to a brilliance and a brightness that was much different’.

He said: ‘[It’s] really great for my sister, to see that she’s done so amazing and continue to thrive and just get bigger and better.

‘Whether it’s musically or in her life or creativity, all of it, man.’

The 45-year-old singer first opened up last year about getting to known Beyonce, now 42, when they were both younger.

Despite being only three years older than her, he ended up being the group’s ‘chaperone, nanny or something like that’.

He told UK radio show ‘Capital Breakfast’: ‘Fun fact, I knew Beyoncé when she was 12 years old, 11 years old.

‘She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.’

Usher is set to make a huge comeback with new a breakup track ahead of his ninth album.

The R&B star, who had enjoyed over 30 years in the music industry, has collaborated with rapper Pheelz for the single, according to The Sun’s Bizarre column.

Set for release on Friday, Ruin, sees the singer say ‘good riddance’ to an ex as it mirrors the lyrical themes seen in some of his best-selling hits of the noughties.

Usher’s ninth studio album, Coming Home, which is expected to feature the song, will drop February 9.

The publication reports that he sings: ‘Good riddance for the last time. Say you can try, maybe get it right next time.’

In the song Usher continues: ‘See this is exactly what you did. You ruin me for everybody.’

Ruin will be released just days before his comeback performance at the coveted Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show, set for February 11.

Already in promo mode ahead of the big game at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, the singer, songwriter and dancer teased fans about what they can expect, and who may grace the grand stage with him as a VIP guest.

During an interview with Vogue, which also included a photoshoot, the eight-time Grammy award-winning artist didn’t go as far as to disclose any names, but he did reveal any guest would be from the R&B genre.

‘This night was specifically curated in my mind to have R&B take the main stage,’ he said, before adding, ‘Not just R&B music, but R&B performance, R&B connection, R&B spirit.’

With that in mind, he all but said he will bring out a big name of R&B, which could a massive star of yesteryear or of more recent times.

After having recently closed out his Las Vegas Residency, and with a new studio album on the way, it seems fitting that the Can U Get Wit It star be the headliner of the first-ever Super Bowl be held in Sin City.

In the wake of the news of him landing the headlining spot, Usher let it be known that he has dreamt of playing the Super Bowl most of his life.

Now in promo mode, he’s now sharing a little glimpse into his state of mind, in terms of the goals, he has for his 13-minute show that he’s been dreaming of since he was a kid.

‘I’ve been doing this for 30 years,’ Usher reflected, while teasing the show. ‘I want people who have been a part of that journey to feel like it’s a celebration for everybody, for all of us, from the beginning up until this point.’

He added, ‘I’m literally speaking to every woman. I want to make it feel like that.’

Along with performing parts of his hits, Usher is expected to also show off his acclaimed dancing skills.

Fans should also be prepared for at least two costumes and some roller-skating, which also played a role in his recent Las Vegas residency.

Now at 45 and with 30 years in the business, the hitmaker has even alluded to his eventual retirement from performing.

‘I love it, don’t get me wrong,’ Usher said of his time on stage and touring, ‘But man. S**t. I’m not looking to be 60 years old up there.’

Being that he’s 45, that statement translates to less than 15 years of stage performing for the Dallas, Texas native, if he does in fact live up to his statement.
