A small, colourful children’s toy has been removed from n retailers due to concerns about choking hazards.
The n Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued an urgent recall notice for the ToyMania 3D mini animal toys sold at Kmart and Target.
The toys, made up of 12 assorted mini animal character designs include shiny dinosaurs, lizards and bugs, were sold by the retailers online and in-store nationwide.
‘The product contains small parts that may separate from the toy and become a choking hazard,’ the notice said.
‘There is a risk of serious injury or death by choking if small parts separate from the toy and a child places them in their mouth.’
The toys, which feature the SKU 43567355/71063829 and GTIN: 5061081370999, were available between June 12 and August 13.
ns who bought the mini animals have been urged to stop using these toys ‘immediately’ and keep them out of reach of children.
Anyone who bought the product, which is manufactured by Zak , has been told to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
If return is not possible, customers are encouraged to contact the store where they made the purchase.
Kmart is listed as being reachable on 1800 124 125 from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm AEST, or on Saturdays from 8am to 5pm AEST.
Target can be called at 1300 753 567 from Monday to Friday between 9am and 7pm AEST, or on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm AEST.
Both retailers also advise customers to use their online contact pages if telephone contact is not possible.
