Donald Trump’s new executive order that requires truck drivers to speak English and pass literacy tests is sending shockwaves across the nation.
‘Proficiency in English … should be a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers,’ according to the order.
He immediately sparked backlash from the left as podcaster Brian Allen stated ‘nothing screams fixing America like hunting down accents while bridges collapse and inflation guts the country.’
Another truck driver critic commented that it’s ‘blatant racism.’ But proponents say that it is necessary for road safety.
‘If you can’t speak or understand English, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel. It’s that simple,’ GOP Rep. Mary Miller wrote on X.
The president hit his 100th day in office and he issued his own verdict on how he is doing in his second term: ‘GREAT.’
He will be in Michigan for a rally on Tuesday evening to celebrate the milestone.
