Pollsters and political strategists claim that the Colorado Supreme Court ruling will only boost Donald Trump’s chances of winning in 2024
‘Donald Trump thrives on negativity, he thrives on legal systems that try to hold him accountable, And I’m convinced that his polling numbers are going to go up,’ pollster and political consultant Frank Luntz told CNN
Earlier this week, pollsters and political strategists claimed Trump is more likely to win in 2024 after Colorado ruled to keep the ex-president off the primary ballot.
The bombshell ruling by Colorado to remove Donald Trump from the state’s primary election ballot will be ‘rocket fuel’ for his chances of winning the White House in a 2024 rematch against Joe Biden, pollsters and pundits predict.
The former president’s son Eric Trump also claimed the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision will increase his father’s frontrunner status in the Republican primary race by at least 5 percent.
It came after a Tuesday night ruling by the state’s highest court that Trump violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment – the Constitution’s so-called ‘insurrection clause’.
The 4-3 decision from Democratic-appointed justices was that Trump engaged in an insurrection on January 6 , 2021 and therefore disqualified himself from running for public office.
It is the first time in history that the insurrection clause has been used to prevent a presidential candidate from appearing on a state’s presidential ballot.
But Trump’s campaign plans to take the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court, where the break-down is six conservative justices to three liberal justices. Three of the sitting justices were appointed by Trump.

High-profile pollster and political consultant Frank Luntz said in an interview Tuesday that the Colorado ruling will have ‘the same impact as his 91 indictments,’ which saw Trump’s poll numbers jump.
‘Trump is now even more likely to beat Biden,’ he predicted in the interview.
Trump is facing felony charges in New York, Washington, D.C., Florida and Georgia related to election interference, mishandling of classified documents and hush money payments.
With each new set of charges, Trump saw boosts to his polling in his already commanding primary race lead.
‘Every time Trump has [h]ad an adverse engagement with the legal system, it has been like rocket fuel with Republican voters because it reinforces his core message that he is (and has been) unfairly treated since the moment he burst on to the scene,’ Republican strategist Scott Jennings said in a statement to DailyMail.com.
‘Republicans see this in the same way they saw two impeachments, the indictments, the Russia investigation, and all the rest – just another attempt by the elites and the Democrats to stop Trump and his voters from getting a fair shake in an election,’ he added in lining up with Luntz’s take on the latest ruling.
‘For Trump haters, this is like getting drunk at your office Christmas Party,’ Jennings said. ‘It may seem like fun tonight, but you will really, really regret it tomorrow.’
Trump lost Colorado by 13 points to Joe Biden in 2020 and does not need the state to regain the White House in 2024.
Former President Donald Trump, seen in 2016, is offering Christmas wrapping paper with the mugshot taken when he was processed in Fulton County, Georgia
Making a list: The Trump campaign is marketing the president’s infamous mugshot on wrapping paper being offered as a gift to contributors
Last month, Trump unveiled his infamous mugshot on Christmas-themed wrapping paper in a plea for campaign donations.
Trump, who has been known to hold campaign rallies with prominent Christmas decor and who claimed in 2016 to have brought back the phrase ‘Merry Christmas,’ blasted out an email appeal to his supporters Saturday.
‘If you’re anything like President Trump, then all YOU want for Christmas is…TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’ began the appeal from ‘Team Trump.’
‘Which is why the President has instructed our team to begin shipping out FREE rolls of our limited-edition wrapping paper to ANY patriot who contributes $47 or more to help save our country from Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Democrats.’
A link takes supporters to a donation page featuring an image of a large wrapped box with a green bow on top.
The gift is wrapped in paper with a black and white image of Trump after he was processed in a Fulton County courthouse after being indicted on racketeering charges related to his effort to overturn the 2020 election results.

The photo has been altered to show Trump wearing a Santa hat.
The page says the ‘NEVER SURRENDER MUGSHOT WRAPPING PAPER’ is a ‘FREE’ gift to those who donate. It then asks visitors to click tabs ranging from $47 to $3,300, the maximum allowable individual federal campaign contribution.
It is a ‘limited-edition’ offer pegged to the holidays, which come just weeks before the Iowa caucuses, which offer Ron DeSantis the best shot to try to dent his poll-leading rival.
Supporters can also pay $35 for ‘MAGA Fist Bump Wrapping paper’ on Trump’s merchandise page, where he has previously marketed his mug shot on a coffee mug.
For those who can’t wait until Christmas morning for their Trump surprise, there is also a ‘Never Surrender Christmas Stocking’ on sale.
While Trump is milking his mugshot to boost his campaign coffers, his legal morass has also been costing him tens of millions of dollars in legal fees.
