Tributes have been paid to a ‘beloved brother’ who died in a Lamborghini crash that has also left a woman fighting for her life in hospital.

Humza Bhatti, known by loved ones as Neeko, died after the green Lamborghini Urus he was driving was involved in a collision on the A38 on the outskirts of Derby.

The horrific crash also left the passenger of the vehicle with life-threatening injuries just before 2.45am on Monday morning.

Following the incident, the road near the Mickleover Golf Club was shut for 11 hours between the A511 for Mickleover and the A50 near Findern.

Mr Bhatti was identified as the deceased by friends who set up an online fundraising page in his honour.

‘Humza was a kind, generous, and big-hearted soul who left a lasting impact on everyone he met,’ a statement on the page read.

‘His compassion and selflessness were evident in the way he cared for those around him, always going above and beyond to help others.

‘To honour Humza’s memory and the incredible legacy of kindness he left behind, we are raising funds to build water wells in his name.

‘Providing clean, safe water is one of the most impactful forms of charity, bringing life and sustenance to communities in need. This project will serve as Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), a means of ongoing blessings for Humza in the hereafter.’

Widespread tributes have also been paid to Mr Bhatti on Facebook.

The fundraiser’s organiser Vakas Hussain, on behalf of the welfare charity SKT Welfare, added: ‘Through this effort, we hope to keep Humza’s spirit of generosity alive, ensuring that his name continues to bring goodness to the world.

‘We kindly invite you to contribute to this cause, no matter how big or small, as every drop counts. Together, we can build a lasting legacy of hope, love, and support for those in need, all in Humza’s memory.’

On Monday, police have appealed for any witnesses or people with dashcam footage around the time of the incident to contact them.

A police spokesperson said: ‘We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage.

‘If you can help with our investigation, contact us, using any of the below methods, quoting the reference 25000008849.’
