After being a major contributor on the wrong side of the most embarrassing loss of the NFL weekend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is hearing it from his detractors.
Enter former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe, who gave his thoughts on what led to the Chiefs’ 24-9 loss to the struggling Denver Broncos on Sunday.
According to Sharpe, Kelce should’ve watched Game 1 of the World Series from home, not in person in Arlington, Texas.
‘I’m kind of disappointed because Friday night, he was at the Rangers game,’ Sharpe said Sunday night on his ‘Nightcap’ social-media show with former NFL wide receiver Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.
‘What’s wrong with that?’ Johnson quipped back.

Kelce was seen dancing to the Taylor Swift classic ‘Love Story’ in a Texas bar after the game
‘It’s the middle of the season. What do you mean what’s wrong with that?’ Sharpe retorted.
Kelce finished the game with six catches for 58 yards and was the Chiefs’ leading receiver. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was battling the flu coming into the game, didn’t throw a touchdown but did have two interceptions.
‘I know the Chiefs lost, I know Mahomes didn’t have a game, I know Travis Kelce didn’t have a game. But you’re not going to tell me you can’t enjoy yourself on a Friday night, which is a short day?’ Johnson said.
‘It was in Texas. He lives in Kansas City,’ Sharpe responded, bringing to light the 560-mile trek to the Lone Star State from Arrowhead Stadium.
‘Oh s***. Do you think it was a bad look though?’ Johnson asked Sharpe.
‘It’s an awful look. It’s a terrible look,’ Johnson said. ‘Ocho, you do realize, this is the NFL. You have a game on Sunday. … Every coach I’ve ever played for has always told us one thing on Friday: “Make sure you get off your feet.”‘
He then struggled on the field less than two days later as the Chiefs lost to the Broncos
Kelce and Swift’s whirlwind romance has taken America by storm over the past month
Any Friday-night spectating quickly turned into early-Saturday-morning partying as Kelce was seen at a Texas bar singing ‘Love Story’ by his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
The video of Kelce singing the lyrics to one of Swift’s big hits went viral on Saturday, a day after the Texas Rangers won the extra-inning game.
A little more than 24 hours after Kelce was partying in Texas came his team’s dismal effort against the Broncos.
Swift was not in attendance in Denver, preparing for the South American leg of her Eras Tour, which begins in Argentina in a little over a week.
