Jason and Travis Kelce believe they have Taylor Swift’s fanbase to thank for their song ‘Fairytale Of Philadelphia’ hitting No. 1 in the American iTunes charts.

On their New Heights podcast, Jason, 36, thanked the Swifties for launching their Christmas anthem higher than they anticipated, after it shot to the top in the wake of its release on November 15.

‘We owe a big thanks to one group in particular besides the 92%ers [their own fanbase] and that’s the Swifties,’ Jason said. ‘The Swifties came out.’

‘One thousand per cent,’ Travis, 34, responded.

Jason went on to praise the power that Swift’s fanbase has as a benefactor of their numerical strength.

‘I sent out one tweet when I got to [number] eight,’ Jason added. ‘And I got like 85 tweets from Swifties across the world saying “oh you think eight’s good? We’re taking this to No. 1” and they did. It’s a powerful group.’

‘Thanks Taylor,’ Travis said, addressing his girlfriend directly. ‘Appreciate you and thank you to the Swifties.’

The No. 1 hit is a remake of The Pogues’ 1988 song ‘Fairytale Of New York’ – which Travis admitted he was completely unaware of, despite it routinely reaching the top of the charts every single year.

Swift may have to give Travis a music lesson after he admitted to not knowing the Pogues or front man Shane MacGowan – whose song he was singing.

‘The fairytale song, I had no idea it was even a Christmas song until you brought it to my attention,’ said Travis.

‘I view it as a Christmas song but it’s also a love song,’ Jason responded. ‘Great tunes, Pogues, Shane MacGowan, unbelievable.’

‘No idea,’ Travis whispered in response.

Travis appeared as a feature on the album ‘A Philly Special’. The Christmas album is a fundraising project by Jason and fellow Eagles linemen Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson to help charities across Philadelphia.

The Swifties’ push helps a wonderful cause as sales for the album will go towards the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
