A woman’s body has been pulled from a reservoir after emergency services searched for two hours for a ‘person in the water’.

The body was found at around 10.30am today after paramedics were called to the scene this morning at Netherton Reservoir in Netherton, West Midlands.

An ambulance spokesperson told The Sun that the service had been called to the reservoir off Highbridge Road at 10.36am.

‘An ambulance, paramedic officer, critical care paramedic and the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene where, on arrival, a woman was pulled from the water,’ they added.

‘Sadly, it quickly became clear she could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.’

A police spokesman said officers had arrived at the scene just over two hours earlier at around 8.15am.

He added: ‘Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances and the woman’s next of kin have been informed.’
