Three bodies have been pulled from the water after a woman and two children were spotted ‘in distress’ at a popular boating spot on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to a boat ramp on Floyd Bay in Lansvale, in Sydney’s south west, on the Georges River at 10.15am on Saturday.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman and two children in the water ‘in distress’.
Paramedics were able to pull the woman from the water but they could not revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A massive search was launched for the two children.
Multiple agencies including Police, Marine Area Command, PolAir and SES were scouring the area for several hours.
Officers on jet skis could be seen scouring the surface as a police rescue boat patrolled the stretch of water.
Tragically, two small bodies were recovered a short time later.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner in relation to the three deaths.
