A toddler is fighting for her life after after a ute reversed over her, pushing her face-first into the sand on K’gari (formerly Fraser Island), Queensland on Thursday.
She was unresponsive after the accident, which happened at around 10am, and her father initially performed CPR on her.
Her parents then drove their daughter to the eastern side of the island and waited for the emergency services to arrive.
The child was flown to hospital by a LifeFlight rescue helicopter after being treated by paramedics.
The young girl suffered extensive bruising and tyre marks on her leg, back and ear.

The ute’s tyres reportedly rolled over the girl at slow speed, pushing her into the sand.
The toddler was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.
A police Forensic Crash Unit team is investigating the incident.
