Today Extra hosts Tim Davies and Belinda Russell have paid a heartfelt tribute to their colleague Davina Smith as she left the show after 10 years.
Co-hosts Tim and Belinda brought veteran news reporter Davina, 42, out on Thursday’s show for an emotional farewell and thanked her for all her hard work during her tenure.
‘Davina has been here for 10 years, bringing the news to you each and every morning. It’s bittersweet today because it’s Davina’s last morning with us,’ Tim began.
‘You have been here for ages, way before us! No one does this job better than you,’ Belinda added.
Davina then became emotional as she thanked her loyal fans for continually watching her during her time on the popular morning show.
‘I’m just so grateful. It’s the best job in the world. The behind-the-scenes team are incredible, we are so lucky to sit beside them,’ Davina began.

‘We tell so many stories and are so lucky!’
The co-hosts then played a special message for Davina from absent Today Extra star David Campbell as he gushed over his longtime colleague.
‘I just want to say it’s been a real honour to sit next to you, to work with you. I’ve learned so much over this period of time working with you,’ David told her.
‘I know we’ve had a lot of laughs, I know we’ve had a lot of banter, you’ve thrown a lot of pens at me.
‘I also wanted to tell you how much I actually respect you, not only as a journalist, but as a person, as a human and very much so as a parent. You are going to be sorely missed, my friend, don’t make me cry.’
Tim and Belinda then revealed Davina’s shock new career move as she will be moving to another popular Channel Nine show – A Current Affair.
‘You’re not going too far, which is good! A Current Affair is very lucky to have you,’ Tim said.
The co-hosts then gave Davina a bouquet of flowers as they tearfully bid her farewell.

The veteran TV star is believed to be joining Allison Langdon on the long-running program as a field reporter.
Upon her departure from Today Extra, Channel Nine veteran Charles Croucher posted a sweet tribute to Davina on social media.
‘Yesterday Nine News Sydney said goodbye to Davina,’ Charles began.
‘She was always the rock during chaotic breaking coverage. So calm, so measured, so professional.
‘I loved every moment we got to work together and lived by the rule of follow Davina’s lead.’
Davina began working at Channel Nine Brisbane in 2011 and has since worked tirelessly across their news and breakfast teams in various n states.
The move to A Current Affair will mean Davina has more time to spend with her husband Mark and their two young daughters, Hope and Rose.
