Tiffany Haddish is to release a tell-all book – I Curse You With Joy – following a turbulent year which saw her arrested for DUI for the second time.
The actress, 44, will release the book – touted as ‘a journey of self-discovery and celebration’ and promising to showcase ‘the good, the bad, the ugly and of course the funny’ on May 7 2024.
The star was arrested for a DUI in Beverly Hills last month – after police found the Hollywood comedienne asleep behind the wheel of her car when it was still running.
This is a second DUI arrest for the star who was found sleeping in her car in Georgia in January 2022.
Haddish told People about the tome – which is a collection of essays and stories:’I’m so excited to share the rollercoaster of success that I’ve been on with my readers, and to show them that just because I’m famous, that doesn’t mean I’m not human,

‘I find the joy in the hardest things in life which you’ll all be able to read about in this new book.
In a press release the star promised a candid look at her life and psyche, saying: ‘This book is me, highs and lows. The good, the bad, the ugly and of course the funny.
‘The wig is off. I’m not wearing any makeup. No lashes. I’m going to spill the tea of my life, all the stuff that makes me more alive, more human and way more interesting than that beautiful wax mannequin of me in Madame Tussauds.’
In the tome, Haddish will detail her childhood trauma including the ‘bittersweet’ reunion she had with her estranged father after two decades apart.
The star will also explore the challenges of being a black woman in the entertainment industry and her roles in films including Haunted Mansion and Girls Trip.
Editor Elizabeth Gassman added: ‘Readers love Tiffany for her authentic, heartfelt humor. The Tiffany you meet within the pages of I CURSE YOU WITH JOY is the same Tiffany that Beyonce and Jay-Z meet at the Grammy’s after party. She’s your best friend who made it big, and she is still keeping it real.’
This comes after it emerged Haddish will reportedly have to stop drinking and undergo random drug testing after she was arrested for her second DUI in less than two years last month.
In documents, obtained by RadarOnline.com, the star was allegedly ordered by a Georgia judge to abstain from alcohol or consuming any illegal drugs last week.

According to the publication, the ‘decision came after prosecutors asked the court to modify Haddish’s bond conditions’ following her recent arrest in in Beverly Hills, California on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In their motion, prosecutors informed the court that ‘Haddish had been arrested on November 24, 2023.’
Police found the actress asleep behind the wheel of her car, located in the middle of the busy street Beverly Drive, when it was still running.
Haddish was reportedly ‘slumped over the wheel while the car was running,’ according to TMZ.
After her latest brush with the law, prosecutors are said to have ‘asked that Haddish’s bond be modified to include a provision stating Haddish cannot drink and must be drug tested.’
During the hearing, the judge reportedly ‘granted the motion’ and ‘ordered Haddish not to drink, use drugs including Hem products such as CBD.’
The order, however, allows her to take prescription drugs ‘within the therapeutic limit.’
Additionally, the site claims she will ‘submit to a drug test panel that detects the use of general illegal drugs and shall include testing for ETG and ETS, alcohol metabolites.’
DailyMail.com reached out to Haddish’s representatives, but did not hear back as of press time.
Following her November arrest, hours after her comedy show at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach on Thanksgiving, she vowed to ‘get help.’
While speaking about how she plans to move forward from the incident, the star told Entertainment Tonight that ‘this will never happen again.’
‘I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries,’ she pledged.
The Girls Trip star revealed that she has remained ‘in good spirits’ after the incident, and according to the outlet, ‘complimented the Beverly Hills Police Department for their professionalism and how they handled the situation.’
Her statement comes after source close to the star told DailyMail.com that Haddish is full of ‘regret’ and is keen to shut down any suggestion she has an alcohol problem.
Haddish, who is relieved that no one was hurt by her ‘mistake’, is reportedly conscious of being defined by the incident.
‘Tiffany regrets that she is in the news for being arrested, but is grateful that nobody got hurt,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘She is going to tackle it all head-on and get the right lawyers.
‘She doesn’t want this to define her or have people think she needs help. She made a mistake, and it is not because she has an alcohol problem. It was just a bad thing that she got herself into and she is working on moving on from it.’
The insider added: ‘She’s looking forward to getting back to work and heading into the new year with the outlook of finding new love and new film and TV opportunities.’
Beverly Hills PD officers received a call at 5:45 AM about a person ‘slumped over the wheel while the car was running,’ according to TMZ.
In a video obtained by the outlet, the actress and comedian can be seen with her hands cuffed behind her back as she is escorted to a patrol car. The arrest was said to be ‘peaceful’ with no resistance.
It came hours after she performed a stand-up set at The Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood for the club’s 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for the community.
The Laugh Factory is about a 15-minute drive from Beverly Hills.
She acknowledged the incident 24 hours later during another set at the Laugh Factory.
Responding to an audience member who asked ‘what happened,’ she quipped: ‘I prayed to God to send me a man with a job. A career. Preferably in a uniform. God answered my prayers.’
In January 2022, she was arrested under a similar circumstance for a DUI in Peachtree City, Georgia – and made a similar joke while discussing the incident with Jimmy Fallon.
At the time, the Night School actress was found ‘dozing in the driver’s seat’ of her car, according to TMZ.
Officers told the site they believed that she had been smoking marijuana.
Soon after, her mug shot was released, showing the star smiling and makeup free.
She addressed the arrest days later during an appearance on The Tonight Show, telling host Fallon: ‘I can say this, Jimmy … I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four. In uniform.’
She continued: ‘And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out. I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!’
Haddish had split from rapper and actor Common three months before.
