alert-–-three-‘bodybuilders’-praised-for-coming-to-the-rescue-of-a-disabled-bus-passenger-after-a-‘selfish’-driver-parked-right-in-front-of-the-stopAlert – Three ‘bodybuilders’ praised for coming to the rescue of a disabled bus passenger after a ‘selfish’ driver parked right in front of the stop

A group of bodybuilders have been praised as ‘absolute legends’ after they lifted a disabled bus passenger in an electronic wheelchair off a bus.

The Good Samaritans leapt into action after realising an illegally-parked Jeep was blocking a bus stop near Parsley Bay in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on Friday.

The bus driver was unable to pull into the stop to allow the passenger in the wheelchair to dismount safely onto the pavement.

Three men in a nearby car were quick to lend a hand, working together to lift the wheelchair off the bus and onto the nearby footpath.

A witness applauded the group on a local Facebook page.

‘To the three bodybuilders who saw what was happening and [got] out of their car to lift the electric wheelchair and the person from the bus, you guys are absolutely legends,’ their post read.

‘You showcased the absolute best of people.’

Others chimed in to express their admiration for the men.

‘Too often we forget those that lend a hand and do good deeds so thank you for sharing,’ one person wrote.

‘I love your description of these extremely kind deeds! I hope these wonderful people read what you’ve written,’ another said.

The Jeep that had prevented the bus pulling into the stop had been booked, as well as other cars, the poster said.

It is illegal to park within 20 metres in front and 10 metres behind a bus stop in NSW, unless a sign gives permission.

The act is punishable with a $275 fine.

Others agreed that selfish motorists disregarded parking rules all too often.

‘Unfortunately there are entitled people who don’t give a hoot parking wise,’ one person commented.

‘Glad they got fined. But they are some wonderful people who helped, bless them.’

It was not the only act of kindness witnessed at the scene on Friday.

A man in a nearby Lamborghini ‘offered and let a young boy sit and get his photograph taken in the driver’s seat’.

‘You are a legend. That young boy will remember your kindness for years to come,’ the Facebook user wrote.
