alert-–-the-view-star-sunny-hostin-deletes-x-in-‘patriotic’-act-as-she-takes-aim-at-elon-muskAlert – The View star Sunny Hostin deletes X in ‘patriotic’ act as she takes aim at Elon Musk

The View star Sunny Hostin has deleted her X account in what she describes as a ‘patriotic’ protest against owner Elon Musk.

The talk show host told the Behind The Table podcast that Musk had made the platform worse.

‘Elon Musk took it over and I feel like he ruined it,’ Hostin, 56, explained.

‘Black Twitter was a thing that I loved and it was sort of replaced with misogyny and racism.’

The staunch Democrat said she no longer wants to be associated with X since Musk has become a Donald Trump adviser.

‘I don’t want to be affiliated with anything that he owns. I’m not going to buy a Tesla, I’m not going to buy Tesla stock.

‘I think the most patriotic thing I could do right now is just to delete the account.’

It came after Hostin was eviscerated on X last week over her comments about Trump’s win, which she blamed on ‘uneducated white women’ and Latino men.

‘I think [Trump’s victory] had nothing to do with policy, I think this was a referendum on cultural resentment in this country,’ she said on The View.

‘Black women tried to save this country again, last night… what we do not have is white women, who voted about 52 percent for Donald Trump – uneducated white women is my understanding. You have Latino men actually, voting more for him.’

Hostin later clarified that she meant non-college educated white women, however she still faced a backlash.

DailyMail.com columnist Maureen Callahan was among those rejoicing in Hostin’s X departure.

‘Good riddance to Sunny Hostin, she of the “uneducated white women” slur, from X. If only ABC execs would cut this race-baiter loose,’ Callahan fumed.

‘Sunny Hostin had all that mouth for “uneducated white women”, but now she’s uneducated on how to handle backlash. Guess it’s easier to delete an account than to delete bad takes. Stay bold? More like stay gone,’ one person wrote on X.

‘The only way anyone even knew Sunny Hostin was no longer on X is because .. we read about it on X. Perfect! She just cancelled herself. College educated white women send their regards Sunny,’ another added.

Hostin was an unabashed Kamala Harris supporter and recently admitted to handing her a soft ball question during an October 8 interview.

Hostin asked the vice president what she would have changed about her time in Joe Biden’s administration.

Despite being a perfect opportunity for Harris to differentiate herself, she stated that there was ‘not one thing that comes to mind’.

Strategists broadly agreed that Harris squandered the chance and if it did not directly signal the death knell for her campaign it was symptomatic of its main pitfall.

The scrutiny of the moment became so intense that Hostin was eventually forced to weigh it.

‘I wish I had that much power,’ she jokingly told ‘The View’ producer Brian Teta during the show’s Behind the Table podcast after being asked if her question was to blame for the loss last week.

‘Because I would have flipped it in the other way.’

The conversation grew more serious from there, with the author and lawyer going on to explain why she ‘followed up’ after Harris’s answer – which many saw as an opportunity to distance herself from her struggling predecessor.

Instead, the Democrat doubled down – likely providing the proverbial nail in the coffin for her whirlwind campaign.

‘I followed up because I was surprised at the answer,’ Hostin explained.

‘I think it wasn’t so much about the question, but it was really more about the answer

‘The reason I followed up was because that wasn’t a gotcha question,’ she continued. ‘That was a layup, really.’

The View has since come under fire for not having a single Republican on its panel and bosses are said to be actively searching for a conservative woman to join its ranks.
