Posing with her daughter and new granddaughter, she could barely contain her delight.
Lorraine Kelly played the role of doting grandmother over the weekend as she took her two-month-old granddaughter, Billie, along to her first ever Dundee United football match.
The 64-year-old television host was photographed with her daughter Rosie Smith, 30, and granddaughter Billie, born in late August, outside Sir Andy Murray’s Cromlix Hotel near Stirling.
The trio, who stayed in the five-star hotel owned by the Scottish tennis icon, also took a trip to Tannadice Park to watch Kelly’s beloved team achieve a 3-0 win against Ross County on Saturday.
Taking to Instagram to share the snap, Ms Kelly said: ‘Baby Billie’s first time in Scotland.
‘We stayed at fabulous Cromlix Hotel and she was so happy there she slept through the night for the first time!
‘Billie is wearing her Dundee United FC Babygro because she went to her first game – team obviously wanted to impress her as we won three nil.’
Ms Smith, who lives in north London, also shared several photos of the family’s Scottish weekend away on Instagram, saying that they ‘might have to move in’ to the famous hotel.
Ms Kelly, commenting on her daughter’s post, said: ‘Gorgeous pics! Amazing weekend – we are moving in to the Cromlix Hotel we’ve decided!!! For the shortbread alone.’
Ms Smith also revealed that the trip marked the first time her young daughter had met her two aunties and uncle, and that it was also her recent fiancé, Steve White, first ever Dundee United game.
An avid Dundee United supporter, Kelly has been a fan of the famous Scottish football team since 1987 after being taken to a game by her now-husband of 32 years, Steve.
Despite being born in Glasgow, the TV host moved to Dundee when she first met Steve in the 80s and the couple lived there until 2017 before relocating to Buckinghamshire, England. Kelly has since spoken publicly about how she misses her former Broughty Ferry home.
Over the years, she has been pictured attending several Dundee United matches, and in 2018 even took on the role of a honorary club patron.
Ms Smith is the Scottish presenter’s only child, with Kelly announcing the news of Billie’s birth in an Instagram post in September that read: ‘I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you! Baby Billie is an angel.
‘I’m so delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures.’
In October, Ms Kelly’s adorable granddaughter also made her TV debut, with the presenter welcoming Rosie and ‘beautiful’ Billie to viewers in a show that marked 30 years since she had welcomed her own child onto the show.
During the program, Smith spoke candidly about her experiences with postpartum anxiety, telling the show’s resident doctor Dr Hilary Jones: ‘Now I’m ok. I think postpartum depression gets spoken about a lot, but I didn’t really know about postpartum anxiety.’
The new mother also acknowledged the loving support she had received from her mother Kelly and her own ‘besotted’ grandmother since the birth.
Speaking about the arrival of her first grandchild, Kelly told presenter Ross King, who had also joined the televised interview: ‘It’s just lovely Ross, it’s just been a very, very special time.’
