Legendary Irish rock band U2 is getting ready to close out its inaugural residency that helped open The Sphere in Las Vegas, and now it seems The Eagles may follow.
The Eagles are in talks to take over as the next residency at The Sphere, with an eye to possibly launch in the Fall/Winter of 2024, via TMZ.
Talks are still ongoing, though it’s unclear when a deal may be finalized at this stage in the negotiations.
If a deal is hammered out in the near future, sources claim that The Eagles could look at making their Sphere debut in late November.
It was also said the residency would last, ‘a couple of months,’ though it’s unclear if it would last as long as U2’s residency.

U2 debuted at The Sphere on September 29, with the residency initially slated to run until December 2023, spanning 25 shows.
Due to incredibly popular demand, the residency added 15 more shows for 40 total, with the show coming to a close this coming weekend on March 2.
The first 25 shows in 2023 grossed a whopping $159.8 million in ticket revenue from 413,000 tickets sold.
In between U2 shows, The Sphere shows a unique film entitled Postcards From Earth from director Darren Aronofsky that utilizes the unique arena’s 270-degree viewing area for a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.
As for The Eagles, the beloved rock group announced in July 2023 they would embark on their final tour, dubbed The Long Goodbye Tour.
The tour kicked off in late September 2023 at the famed New York City arena Madison Square Garden, with the 12-date concert wrapping in St. Paul, Minnesota in mid-November.
The group hasn’t released an album since 2007’s Long Road out of Eden, though it seems that will likely be their final album.
When asked whether or not the group would record a follow-up to that album, bassist/vocalist Timothy B. Schmit revealed why they would likely not.

‘I sincerely doubt it. We toured behind our last album, and put in five to seven of those songs,’ he said.
‘But we don’t do them any more because there wasn’t a big reaction. When people come to see the Eagles they want to hear ‘Best Of My Love’, ‘One Of These Nights’, all these things. So we give it to them,’ he admitted.
The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and are one of the best-selling bands in the world with over 200 million record sold worldwide.
Their list of accolades includes five #1 singles, six #1 albums, six Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards.
