NRL star Ben Hunt has splashed out an eye-watering $2.7million on holiday home on the NSW north coast near Byron Bay.

Located in Newrybar, the 20hectare spread was previously a ‘luxury farm stay’ controlled by the Black Cockatoo Retreats brand.

St. George star Hunt, 34, and his wife Bridget already own another investment property he built in the Brisbane suburbs in 2014.

His new pad is a mere 15kms inland from Byron Bay, and was available to holidaymakers to rent for for $1500-a-night ahead of the recent sale.

It was purchased in 2021 from Transport of NSW for $1.9million by a local entrepreneur and renovated before it was last listed for $2,950,000, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Hunt and his nutritionist wife live in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

They bought their stylish four-bedroom home in Caringbah South in 2019 for $1.61million.

Constructed in 2010, the house is built in imitation ‘Queenslander’ style.

Born in Rockhampton, Hunt rose to fame as a player with the Brisbane Broncos after making his NRL debut in 2009.

But despite being a Queenslander and later playing for St. George, the half-back and hooker is known as a long-term fan of the Cronulla Sharks.

The Dally M and State of Origin favourite has also represented since 2014.
