Houston Texans star wide receiver Nico Collins has inked a deal worth $72million over the course of three years, according to multiple reports.
Collins had a breakout season in 2023 thanks to a great connection with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The news was first reported by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. Further reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter say that the deal has a max value of $75m and that $52m of the contract is guaranteed.
Last season, Collins became the fourth pass catcher in franchise history to reach 1,000 receiving yards – hauling in 1,297 yards on 80 catches with eight touchdowns.
He joined Brandin Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins, and Andre Johnson as receivers with that honor.

Collins was set to become a free agent next season, but this massive pay rise will avoid that from happening.
He was taken 89th overall in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Michigan.
A consensus four-star receiver out of high school, Collins opted out of his fourth year of college due to the Covid-19 pandemic – but racked up 1,388 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in his career as a Wolverine.
In his first two NFL seasons, Collins brought in 446 yards and 481 yards respectively with three total touchdowns on 70 combined catches.
To see that spike the following season of 80 catches, 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns is impressive to say the least.
In the postseason, the Texans wideout caught eleven passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.
